taxes and retirement

All right, I have spent some time over at helium writing for the marketplace, hopefully. I am not foolish enough to believe that the Marketplace publishers will only choose from Helium.
I have just bored myself silly for a week, writing about taxes and retirement and have decided beer is a good subject!
Unfortunately, I am on my sixth beer and still feel like I am a completely boring person!

I have often wondered if it is worth it to write for Helium. I hear they pay for articles, but how much? Do you get decent money? You mention other publishers looking at Helium, do they often look for writers, is it a place to find prospects for other paid writing jobs?
And don't feel you are boring, you are just spent. Sometimes writing and all using up all your creative energy can be exhausting.

Rollo Helium has a section called marketplace where you can write for publishers and hope they choose your articles. I am fairly certain they do not only choose from Helium. After all, I could write on a topic I know nothing about and get it all wrong. That would be pretty useless to a publisher. In fact there are two articles on one topic where the information seems to be coming from an article that was written in 1979. The information is not even close to what is appropriate now!
Writeredge, thank you. I hate to think I have done all this concentrating for nothing but it will save me some studying when these chapters come up in my courses.
