I'm a strong believer in karma and many buddhist philosophies, and I quite bluntly don't believe in God.
What do you think? It seems like there are many strongly opinionated people in religeon, like extremely conservative christian/catholic people and some that are the opposite.

Buddhism is the single most logical religion besides Towism. It has NO history of violence unlike EVERY other religion in the world which all use the very primitive and childish 'my god is better than yours' argument. Buddhism rather tends to seek out peace with life and the environment, and is flexible to other beliefs. It should be THE world religion to be quite honest, if there had to be one.

Buddhism has one great virtue, it does not require a belief in god. It is the only religion I know of that does not ask you to come and believe. Buddhism only asks you to come and look, If you find something in it that is useful to you, in your life, then use it. A Buddhist never asks you to join him in his religion, he only asks you to learn from it.

My sister is very interested in Buddhism and has posted a discussion looking for information. She's CaitBaby on MyLot. She is looking for some books to buy to tell her more. I'm kinda like you. I believe more in teachings and finding inner peace. I'm not into organized religion so much, especially from my experiences. I find that many people in my area that claim to be Christian also fail to mention that they are judgemental and hypocritical. I'm very opinionated when it comes to religion, but I myself don't judge. I look at it this way, let people believe what they want to believe, but unfortunately, many people won't accept that. I feel that a lot of religious people on MyLot and in life tend to push their beliefs more than the non-religious people. I dunno. I may feel differently one day, but I'm content for now.

I'm not religious but I think suffering is part of life. Jesus suffered as well.
I think it's hard to compare Budhism to Christanity. They are two different things.
Everyone is entitled to his opinion and I would give my life to make sure anyone can say what he or she thinks even if I don't agree.

I too believe that what comes around goes around. I see it happen all the time. I also believe that people who judge will one day bee judged. I have been a beliver in God since I was a lil girl, but I dont believe in religion, religion is a crock, dont let it fool you about God. I think god is very upset that so many people who are suppose to represent him are fake or hypocrites, what might be happening though is some might think just b/c u goto church or believe in God u should never sin like cursing or drinking or even being mean but I know I screw up evry day and i believe in God. I also think people that are so opinionated r just trying to be right cause it makes them feel well right, but if i said u should try and find god its not cause i am being bossy or that he is lost lol its b/c i know from my own experience that my believe in him has helped me thru alot, i choose to try and be 'good' cause that is want i think is best. not so i will win god's approval and get to go to heaven.i would encourage u to visit a more modern church, things are changing in christianity and people r becoming more what i think it is suppose to be like, loving, pure, kind, helpful, generous, and humble.

Firsly, I would like to say, nicely observed! There are lots of differing opinions when it comes to religion - that's what makes it such a good topic to debate! =D
I believe in a variation of karma, and I also agree and disagree with many different points in many different religions, I don't think I have quite found my niche yet; or perhaps I am just able to filter out the good information and the nonsense in each religion, slowly compiling something altogether different.
I suggest that you not commit yourself to anything until you have explored all there is to explore. Exploring is what makes a truly beautiful life; and "god" (whoever that might be to you in the end) will surely not hold the will and courage to learn against you, you will go "home" (wherever that may be) regardless of how winding your path is.
