Have you ever owned a dollhouse? Did you have one as a kid? Where did it come from?
I've always been fasinated with dollhouses. I've never had one of my own but a friend had one when I was young and we played for hours on end with it. I've now gotten a chart to start stitching one that I really like. Although it's not the same as having one you can touch and move things around in it's about as close as I'll get right now :) Something about everything being so tiny that just amazes me. Some of the minitures they make for the houses are so perfectly made it looks like they were shrunk down from the real thing.
I read an article once about a man who was in prison and was building one in there. I thought it was so awesome that he was doing that.

I love dollhouses. There's a very large dollhouse at my local library. It was donated by a family after the owner passed away. It is very elaborate and each room is finely detailed with wallpaper, furniture, pictures on the walls - it even has working lights! I would love to build one myself one day, but I would need a separate room to dedicate just to to dollhouse. And yes, some of the miniatures are extremely lifelike! I think you can even get designer miniatures.

Not until I was around 20 yrs old and loved dollhouses for their aesthetic quality. I bought myself a huge victorian called a San Franciscan, some friends helped me put it togtehr piece by little piece and I had the time of my life furnishing it. I still have and enjoy it.

I have never had a dollhouse. It was one thing I had wished for when I was young. My girls had a small one that they enjoyed playing with. I wish I could have given them an elaborate one. But, they were just as happy with the small one.

when i was 13 my dad and my grandfather built me one for christmas. it was a scale model of the house we were living in. its pretty cool. the second story slides out so you can get to the other rooms, plus electricity. i still have it after all this time. my girls had fun playing with it when they were younger.

When I was growing up we didn't have much money. I could count how many toys I have on my fingers. When I was ten, I wanted Santa to bring me a doll house, so badly. This was the year I stopped believing.
Christmas morning I woke up to find Santa didn't bring me a doll house, I got teddy bear again from Santa. I was so disappointed, then my mother handed me a gift, that was small but heavy. It was a do it yourselve punch out doll house. It required wood glue and an adults help, which I never did get.
I never got my doll house that I wanted so badly as a child. The wood peieces that I punched out to put it together, got wood shavings all in the carpet, and we kept getting splinters in our feet. I tried to put it together, but I just could get the pieces to stay together, no matter how much glue I used.
I now how two girls of my own. I wanted them to have the things I really wanted as a little girl but my parents could never afford, with having 6 kids and all. So I bought them a doll house, not one of museum quality or anything, but they spend hours playing and enjoying it. So I guess in a way I did get my doll house, through watching the joy it has brought to my children.

I don't remember ever having one of those really nice dollhouses. I had one that was like fisher price when I was really little, and later I was given a Barbie one. Which was stupid, because I loathed Barbies beyond all reason. In fact, in anything my Barbie dollhouse became a place to hide things I didn't want anyone to find.
As an adult, I keep thinking one of these days I'll get myself a nice dollhouse, just because. I'm one of those people really. I never read kid's books as a kid, but I love them now. I never played most of the games kids played, and I never played with girl toys at all hardly. But now I'm starting to think it would be neat to be a girl for a while. =P

I always wanted a doll house, but never got one. Whenever we went to someone's house, I always wished that I could have a doll house like all my friends, but never got one.
I did have a porcelain doll and later a ballerina doll, the predecessor of the Barbie dolls, but they were mainly for show.

I had a wood dollhouse that my dad gave me when I was about 6 or 7 for christmas. He put it all together for me and glued it and all that good stuff. I was so happy about that dollhouse when I got it! I used to make things with scrap cloth and make clothes for my dolls and things. We had little money so I had to be creative hahaha! I miss that little dollhouse, that is a good memory.

Yes, twoey, I did, in fact, have a dollhouse when I was about 8. It was very pretty and my friends and I spent many wonderful hours playing there. I think there is where I picked up my obsession with changing my furniture around so often. I also had an outdoor playhouse with kitchen appliances, table set, and dishes. I had a really great time as a kid!

I had this dollhouse that I put together and it had keys and such so that would control lights and stuff. That's about all I remember as I don't have it anymore. That's about the only dollhouse I had. Really I was never really into dolls and dollhouses and stuff. I was always more of a movie watcher and music listener. So the dolls I loved... Oh my New Kids on the Block Dolls that I could make perform on the NKOTB Stage I had!

Nope, have never had a dollhouse when I was growing up but my nieces have over the years. I don't think I was ever into dolls when I was younger, not sure why but dolls never fascinated me at all :)

I had two of them. I had a metal one that I played with all the time and then I got one that my Barbie dolls would fit in and I played with it all the time too. It was so nice to just sit and use my imagination to decorate it and make the "day" for Barbie!

I never had a wooden dollhouse, but I had the exact same doll house that was in the girls room on full house (well not the exact same one as in it wasn't the one in their room but one that looks exactly like it). I also had like two other plastic ones. I had a barbie doll house too, well two one was more cardboard though, and was broken like a few years after I got it. I got them for christmas various years through my childhood, still have them all.

I always watched my little sisters and her friends play with their dollhouses. I usually kept thhinking those dollhouses were much coller tahn my toys that I had. Usually i had action figueres but never had like a base were all my toys could hang and chill heheh.. Oh well i guess chicks toys were linked with houses or what not, girls used to be targeted with housewives back in the day. If you want your kids to play with dollhouses you can fin one here. wwww.childrensdollhouse.biz
