Where to publish content articles?

Okay, so I'm getting started in freelance writing. I've been doing fairly well at Associated Content and have submitted most as exclusive. I have started writing for the Marketplace at Helium. However, if you do not win, your article is still published on Helium and you cannot delete it ever. I've also looked into Constant Content to submit rejected articles from Associated Content, or the ones I feel should have a better offer. Would it be better to stick with Constant Content and Associated Content, or some other combination? Would it be best to publish articles in more than one place and just give Constant Content Usage only rights so I retain full copyright? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I don't know AC, I heard they're serious. Maybe for articles you can't publish you can do that on Hubpages as there is no constraint at all:
Why switch to hubpages (hubpages vs triond helium or blogger)

Now you can also be paid upfront 25$ per article + enjoy the same royalties see here

Hope that helps.

There is another good site called www.youk.uk.com
It is still only small but they offer great support, control and flexibility.
There are a few catches though you a limited to a particular topic, you get to choose what the topic or subject is and you can make it as broad or narrow as you choose.
This is a particularly great site if you are able to write numerous articles and interested in having your own site based on your interests or expertise

I have been writing for AC and CC since January, and this is what I do: I submit the article to both, for non-exclusive to AC and for all (usage, unique, and full rights) to CC. Since it can take a few days to AC to accept or decline, it gives the article time to sell for full rights on CC. If it does sell for full rights, then I delete it from the list on AC. If I get an offer from AC first, I usually accept, then go back to CC and edit the article listing to only offer it for usage. I seldom offer articles to AC for exclusive rights so I can retain the copyright and sell it elsewhere, also. (I had a website contact me about reprinting one of my AC articles, fortunately it was one that I had retained the rights to!) If it is a first-person article I may offer it to AC for exclusive rights, since CC won't accept those, but I don't write too many of them.

Thanks so much for sharing. I am getting started as a writer too. I never thought of myself as a writer, and in fact, got writer's block when I had to do it in school. My mind just goes blank trying to think of words to put down in the piece, and then I get anxious. With help online now I think I can work through my fear. I wrote a few articles already for someone and receive payment. It felt good :)

For me it's not so great as I explained here:
