Personally, this varies year by year. Sometimes I put up stuff for Halloween before september is even over, and sometimes I am too busy to ge to it until like the week before. But I ask because our crazy neighbor decorated for Halloween yesterday, the apartments made her take it down because it was all over the lawn (making an issue for the gardners) and she was up here screaming at us - We didn't do anything, didn't call to tell on her as she assumed, we did nothing! I personally for once didn't even care that she was all ready for a holiday. But I can see how the manager here wouldn't want stuff all over the grass or out to very early. Does anyone else have restrictions like this where they live? When is it okay to start decorating for the holidays?

We live in apartments and I don't think there is any rules about when you can decorate however I do know that your not allowed to have anything in the grass and nothing fastened (with nails or screws) to the building. We have a front porch and we can sit anything out there that we want to as long as it doesn't block the doors or is not an eyesore.

The rules at your place sound about like ours really! We also have a really great frint porch for decorating, so I am looking forward to dragging out all the stuff. Happy Haunting!

I usually start Sometime in October, and I have never had complaints. Though this year it should be extra creepy, since we live in a old school that has been turned into apartments...would be awsome for a party of something... the old boiler room looks like a dungeon with a hugh heavy door, the hallways are dark at night and the lights flicker... its awsome. My landlord, doesn't seem to mind what we do, as long as things get picked up after word. So I can't see him having a problem with things.
