To be sure, I don't only like one news channel; I actually like several news channels both domestically and internationally.
Domestically, I like the news channel, ANC, which essentially delivers the freshest breaking news--24/70--here in the Philippines.
I really like such news channel because apart from their excellent and easily understandable reporting (in English, by the way), they also have shows that provide sensible analysis and different viewpoints on the most relevant issues in our country and all over the world.
For instance, every Monday, they have a show called Talk Back, the only interactive news program on ANC, where the tv audience could actually participate in the interesting discussions on air.
Every Tuesday, they air my favorite show, Strictly Politics, where the host basically talks to different political and influential societal figures alike to discuss varying issues, obviously mostly are political in nature.
When Wednesday comes, it's time for my other favorite--Square-Off--a debate show/tournament, which actually features different students from various Philippine universities, who essentially debate about the most important and pressing issues of the day, and the winner of the tournament, if I am not mistaken, would eventually represent my country to the upcoming World Universities Debating Championships.
Meanwhile, every Thursdays, there's Crossroads, a current affairs show, where different regions of the country generally converge, through their representatives who guest on the show, and talk about different socio-economic and/or political issues in our country and elsewhere.
During Fridays, on the other hand, there is the integrative show, Big Picture, where the different current issues are effectively pieced together, like connecting the dots, if you will, to somehow give a clearer picture of what its implications/effects are on the country and the people as a whole.
Before I forget, by the way, ANC also offers a fine program, Executive Class, which basically showcases different things, places, and events, among other things that would appeal to the taste of primarily the Executives, especially to those who are affluent, and quite probably, even everyone in general, .
Internationally, I would have to say that I truly enjoy watching CNN because of their sensible programs, specifically Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer and Anderson 360, the admirable way they report the news, and their good reporters.
BBC and CNBC also easily get my two thumbs up and I watch different programs in such channels occasionally.
If you have time, shorty08322, try to check such news channels out, if you haven't checked them out yet, so that you'll perhaps better understand where I'm coming from and why I enjoy watching such.
Happy myLotting and more power!
