A co-worker just gave my husband a huge box of Concord grapes. I need some ideas on how to use them up. Anyone have a jam or jelly recipe? Thanks for your help.

If you get a box of certo, the gelling agent, they have a really good recipe for concord grape jelly. My sis uses it all the time, and we fight over who's going o get the biggest jar.

Great idea. Thank-you. I remember my grandma using certo to make raspberrie jam when I was a kid.

Oh, lucky you! Those have a taste like no other kind. A very old neighbor of ours used to have a vineyard before I was even born and after he passed on, the grapes went wild and crept over onto our property. I used to go out and eat those right off the vine day after day. If I got a big box like you did, I would use some by washing and putting them directly in the freezer to pull out and snack on. I love to eat frozen grapes. If you are up to peeling a few and taking the seeds out, they are also the best possible addition to what we used to call a 24-hour salad. It is like ambrosia but without the coconut. You mix whipped cream and a little cooked custard (I used to make mine by mixing egg yolk and pineapple juice over low heat and then, of course it has to be cooled) and a few tiny marshmallows and then fold in diced peaches, pears, mandarin oranges, bananas, or whatever and refrigerate it at least overnight to let the marshmallows soften and the flavors blend. It is soooooo good, and nothing like the stuff they serve in buffet restaurants.
