Should Sachin have been given the captaincy to have a good record as a captain?

BCCI should have given a chance for tendulkar to lead the team.The team he lead twice before doesn't contain the young thinking cricketors which both Dravid's and Ganguly's team had. Inspite of all the records the master blaster have , he should be desperate to have a good record as the captain. I certainly felt bad when Sachin didn't get it . Itz ok with Dhoni,But......
Anyway what do you guys think ?
Should Sachin have been given the captaincy with the sparkling younsters in the team ?

Well, he will be great captain, but he dint perform as lead so far. But he proved in IPL matches.

BCCI already offered captaincy to Sachin many a times.Its Sachin who is not willing to lead and i support his decision.He takes takes a lot of pressure.Dhoni was recommended by Sachin only and that was a right decision at right time.Dhoni is going very well and surely he will bring the next worldcup.

well i dont think so. if he is not a good captain then why do you want the team to suffer. when the present captain is doing good then why do you want to replace him . it is an insult to the present captian and i think it is not good for th mood of the team. what is happening is good and should be continued like this only.

I believe its good decision from the board to make dhoni as captain. he is young he is going to play long and should be given the chances.Sachin is always there as good player and his experience can be used by captain so there is no need for him to lead the team under the TAG captaincy.

BCCI definately gives a chance to Sachin Tendulkar if Sachin is ready to take it. Sachin is a great batsman and he knows about responsibility. So Sachin is not ready to take this responsbility.

it is not fair to take captaincy for their personal stats
it will be good to opt an young captain so that he will get command on the team for next world cup

I don't think so because as a captain he is not so good, records can explain better. Being a captain it has effected his batting, he plays well when he is given freedom but with lots of burden upon him he fails. Sachin is a great player as a Batsman but not as captain. Al the best players cannot be good captains. India had Azaruddin and Ganguli as the best captains till date. Now Dhoni can try his luck as a captyain afetr being given the deputies job.
