I had traced my family tree on my father's father's side back 1788 back to Germany! I had struck many problem tracing as records go missing or no exist as the had been destroyed by floods or even war! There had many surprises that had pop up in our family as well . It is exciting ! But yet my father's mother's side is different it goes back to 1756. My Great Great Grandmother who was Danish , I had traced her family tree also which dates back to 1508. I had been doing genealogy research for over 20 years but there is always something new to add in!! As you get data from other relatives that are on other branches of the family tree either giving you data!!

The earliest I can document is the arrival of Richard Rawlings and his family in 1835. My grandmother emigrated from Ireland in 1898, she was only 3. I can also trace others arriving from Ireland before the Civil War, some from Germany in the late 1800's. But the Rawlings family is the only one that I have located their names on an actual ship's manifest.
