Oh yum yum yum….talk of chicken biryani to an Indian! Its my favourite too and one of India’s all time favourite food. As you know, we have two varieties of biryani here – the Lucknowi (Awadhi) variety and the Hyderabadi variety. Both Lucknow and Hyderabad are traditional muslim areas and the food of these regions are typical mughal and nizam preparations that are no doubt difficult to prepare but very tasty. We of course can’t prepare it at home but you will get it in many restaurants and I usually opt for this alongiwth chickn chanp whenever I want to have mughlai food outside. But I have never had the Pakistani variety and I wish it was easily available in Calcutta. There are Pakistani food fests held in 5star hotels but these are very expensive and way beyond the reach of common people.
But coming to the specialities of my region, as you can understand I am a Bengali residing in Calcutta. So my first love is of course fish in all its glorious varieties and with the rainy season just over, it was hilsa all the way! Then on occasions we will have prawn malai curry, sweet pulao, mutton curry followed by sweets. Yes, I love these festive seasons, its time for good food and lots of fun!

Well Pakistani biryani have differnt taste as compare to Lucknowi biryani as far as some ingredients are concern, but one thing is common that all are soicy and delecious. Here most famous is chicken biryani and other is sindhi biryani( beef is used in it)
Well i like prawn and lobster too, but lobsters are really expensive, we are also fond of Sea food but sure cant compare Bengalis (LOL) , our staple food is rice and wheat for sure.
I love deserts too, specially tradional desert.

I like mutton biryani than chicken,...I justs love the taste of the mutton...and in my country we have a chicken or beef rendang...it's a chicken or beef cooked in the blend of a spices and the coconut milk,..they will be cooked until the coconut milk is dry and leave the chicken or the beef in a full of the spices taste. After that the fried shredded coconut added to make the taste of coconut and the spices to the chicken or the beef. We have this dish for eid, party and on the wedding day...
