Okay fellow mylotters, I need your help. My mom called me the other day and said she had a snake in one of her plants. Thing is, she has never seen this kind of snake before and didn't know what kind it was. It looked to only be a baby and it seemed like it was dying because it didn't hardly move when my dad went to knock him into a bucket to put him in the woods. The snake was black with red diamonds that had yellow outlining the red diamonds. Does anyone know what kind of snake this was?

I have no idea what kind it would be but I am sure glad it wasn't me that found it. *shivers* Don't like snakes. I am happy that you didn't kill it though...alot of ppl would have. I may not like them but I wouldn't kill it either. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I watch "Animal Planet" a lot and it sounds like a poisonous diamond-back because of the colors you've described but there's a lot of different kinds of snakes that look very much alike so it could also be a totally different kind of snake that could be poisonous or non-poisonous! I'm sorry I wasn't much help but when I read your discussion it just reminded me of what I've seen on t.v. so I wanted to try and help LOL. Good luck in finding out what it is exactly! Poor little guy, I hope he gets better whatever he is!

I cant help you with what snake it was but it does sound unusual. Has your mother called the local animal shelter? maybe they would know or, if they dont maybe the local zoo would. If its really sick or something it needs proper professional care and what have you so i would call animal rescue. sorry i couldnt be of more help than that but it definitely needs a professional touch.
