I have been sick for these past few days. I have amoebiasis. Here's a short description of Amoebiasis: Amoebiasis is a parasitic infection caused by Entamoeba histolytica. It is usually contracted by ingesting water or food contaminated with amoebic cysts. Diarrhoea is one of the most common symptoms. In addition to diarrhoea (which may contain blood) signs and symptoms include stomach cramps and fever. My symptoms are diarrhea without blood, stomach cramps, nausea, vomitting. I don't have fever but i do feel weak. I try to drink plenty of liquids so i won't get dehydrated. I already drank my medicine with a generic name of Metronidazole. I am resting right now..well just mylotting, sleeping, and a lot of drinking water. I hope I get well before training starts..*sigh*

Hello! Ohhh...that's sad to hear, hope you're feeling well and your tummy too. My baby had amoebiasis months ago and she was hospitalized since she wouldn't eat. Nowadays you can't be so sure of the water and the food we eat if it's clean or not. You should always carry your own water with you and avoid buying or eating outside, 'coz you don't know. As much as possible eat at home and know where the food your eating came from. Actually, now that you had amoebiasis, it will keep on coming back as your stomach will be sensitive already, it's like you'll have it for the rest of your life, that's what they said eh. One of my friend had it and still keeps on coming back, and my baby as well....so you really have to be very careful now. Do have a rest and hope you'll be feeling fine tomorrow. Take care and get well soon. *smile* ciao! c",)

Yes, it's common now here in our country since water reservoirs are getting polluted. From deep-well pumps amd through floodings, we can never say that we are safe. So I always make sure that I bring my own water whenever I'm out for a trip, or drink those bottled water which can be bought on grocery stores. If I can't have any of them, I prefer bottled softdrinks instead.

yes i do that too. we don't drink water from the faucet because there's always a tendency that it can get dirty. so we use filtered water for drinking. i don't know where i got this. oh well i just have to drink my medicine to get well. =)

You get this protozoa - amoeba - usually from feces contaminating your water or your food. So be careful there. Eating in fast food centers, street foods, drinking contaminated water can give you this infection. So only in places you're sure of its cleanliness. Get to the Doctor as soon as you have diarrhea that last more that 12hours, as you may get dehydrated soon.
