whats the best time to be in new york

what is the best time to travel from europe to new york, when is the best climate, when is it SALESSSS time so i can do cheap shopping, what are the cheapest hotels, what is a must see in new york...let me know i one time been in new york it was sooooooooo hot it was in the middle of july i enjoyed new york a lot but i found it a lil bit to hot, im planning a trip to new york someone next year...i go with my brothers and they love high tech stores where you can buy the latest tech gadgets etc...know any stores to go to ?

There is always something going on in New York, so it is difficult to say which time is the best. More tourists come during the summer season, just because in the winter, the snow can put a damper in your plans. There are also numerous flea markets where you can buy souvenirs and unusual items. If you can't stand the heat, then come during the late summer or early fall. Hostels are cheaper than most hotels or you can find hotels in New Jersey and take the bus to the city. You might have to book as early as 6 months before your trip if you plan to come during a holiday. As for the must see, there's the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Ground Zero, Chinatown, among others.

thanks everyone for responding to my note im writing it all down, i realy apreciate the information, i can remember ground zero, that made such impression to me, i went to new york in the month of januari right after the event, i remember all the flowers hanging there and the letters and cards etc on several spots in new york, they sealed off the area so i couldnt see..only the many flowers so thats why i definitly wanna go back someday to new york, so many things ive didnt see yet..yes and china town i would like to see that aswell someday, thanks again

I love going to NY around Christmas! I don't know about hotels as I live close enough to drive, but there are a lot of sales. The decorations and activity of NY at Christmas is terrific! If you are lucky enough to see the first snow it is amazing, taking a cab ride through Central Park is beautiful! There are so many tech stores in NY its difficult to list them!

ok...maybe i must start saving money so i can travel there next year :-), traveling around christmas time from europe to any country is so expensive...ok noted that down "cabdrive central park" thanks so much!
