I completely just go with the flow. I will occasionally outline what I want to say, but normally I just start writing and let the words pour out. I usually am writing things like short articles or blog posts, though, as opposed to longer pieces of writing. So my method works well for these short pieces, but wouldn't be as productive for longer work.

I do the same thing but I'm finding that it takes me on average an hour to two to write an article. When writing them for pay, that kinda kills the profits since it makes it out to be like $2 an hour, lol. I want to be able to write a few articles an hour if I can.

I go with the flow... I used outlines but first i must brainstorm it so that i can see the flow of what i am writing. i am writing a novel right now but the way i'm doing it is no different to others. sometimes i tend to get off the original outlines but i can remedy it right away... i don't usually sit down and write. i use my phone's note application to write the story and it saves me a lot of time.

I don't have a formula and it wouldn't work for me if I had one. I am basically not a person would follow all the rules and formulas, so that wouldn't work. I usually write when I am stroke by that writing flow and I would start to sit in front of the computer and produce a few pieces. Yes I just go with the flow.

I mostly go w/ the flow. Most of my stuff is poetry, so it just comes out like a waterfall. If I write a story, I outline it first but keep it as free-flowing as possible.

If I am writing a paper I write an outline I then follow it. If I am writing a post I just go from my head.

I normally sit down with pen and paper because it seems to flow better for me than if I were sitting at a computer. I just begin writing down my ideas as they come, then look back over what I have written down. Lots of times, it's jibberish and doesn't relate to the complete idea I want to get across, but it helps me get out what I need to get my subject across.

I generally go with the flow but I have had to stop and take inventory. I have had to do a timeline so that one plus one equals two. I have had to draw up character sketches from the colour of their hair to the kind of car that they drive. I don't like there to be inconsistencies in my novels. My readers wouldn't like it either.
When a novel gets long I find myself doing a chapter by chapter outline so that I know what happened in which chapter. One of the reasons for that is if I want to go back and refresh my memory as to what exactly took place, I will know where to find it.
But writing the story itself just flows from my pen as I sit and write.

It depends what I'm writing...If I'm writing fiction, I just let my imagination run loose, especially in my fantasy type stories, but I did write one short story, which I am in the process of re-doing--that is adding to it...it was a historically based story with the Civil War as the background, and while I'm a CW buff, I did have to bone up on facts again...I have one novel idea on the definite back burner, based on my family history but a fictional version of their story...For articles, I also tend to go with the flow, unless again I have to do a little research into them...but I can usually zap out an article in about an hour
Then I have a few "weird" episodes...sometimes I get stuck with a short story...I just don't know where to take the story to the next part--so I'll sleep on it...Then I must be dreaming about the story, and boom..I wake up, grab the composition book I have near me, start writing like crazy (half asleep) and then go back to sleep...hours later I wake up, re-read what I've written and it's so on the money of what I wanted to write that I don't have to change a thing!

I tottaly write as it comes to me. Sometimes I can go on and on writing if I have a good idea, but other times I may take days or weeks to write. But i always, always brainstorm first.
