Do lumps move?

I'm wondering if you were to feel a lump, will it always be there in the same spot or does it move around a bit?

I think it depends on where and what it is. I have a small lump in the underside of my upper arm, and it moves around. It's been there for years, and it hasn't changes sizes, so I'm not too worried about it at the moment. If you have one that is worrying you, you probably go to the doctor to have it checked out, just to be safe.

It turned out to be nothing. Just muscle or whatever tissue I'm relieved

some do, some don't... if it moves, it doesn't literally move around, you can nudge it here and there. Lumps that don't move usually are stuck the space between your ribs. If you want to check for lumps, it's best you do that 2weeks after your menstruation. That way, it doesn't hurt as much. :)

Thank you ten, the additional info is greatly appreciated. I'm also thinking, since the hormones have so much to do with everything, maybe I've been eating too much soy and throwing my estrogens out of wack. I have much to learn and a ton of questions to ask my doctor.

It turns out that it's normal tissue or whatever I never could distinguish between regular and abnormal tissue It's all lumpy to me!

Usually, the troublesome lumps stay in one spot. If a lump is 'fixed' [ stays in one spot ] that is a more serious sign, than if it was mobile.

Mine is no where to be found at the moment so I'm guessing it's an excellent sign. I have a doctors appointment on the 31st to get things checked anyway. Better safe than sorry.
