Does anyone else hate this "tuck your pants into your boots" fashion trend?

I can't stand this fashion trend. It looks cute with the right outfit, but now all the boot designers are making their boots extra big around the leg - so that people can tuck in their pants. So now I can't find any boots that fit me! I need a tight fitting boot that I can wear to work with skirts and dress pants. I can't walk around with my pants tucked in at the office! So for the last two years I haven't found a single pair of boots that fit. I was hoping this trend would be over this year, but I went shopping yesterday - and nope... they're still making boots big. Whenever I try a pair on and they're too big, the sales person always says "oh, well you're supposed to tuck your pants in them". To which I roll my eyes and explain that I can't do this with professional outfits at work. Ughhhh! It was recommended that I get a pair altered. But I just don't feel like having to pay hundreds of dollars for something that doesn't fit, and needs to be fixed up (and who knows if it would even fit properly after that). Does anyone else share my pain?

This look was big in the 80's. They used to make the legs of the pants very slim in the lower leg, so you could tuck and not pucker. But the boots were not larger in that area. I would not dress like that these days, no matter what! I had enough of it back then!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem! Maybe this trend will go out of style next year and normal sized boots will be available again.

i dont hate. i haen't tried wearing like it but i would love to. i like it when i see someone wearing those kind of outfit. it seems so go-to-go and girlie kind of style. well that's business, they hae to look into the latest trend to profit you know. but i guess there are stores that customize boots so probably you just have to tell sthe store that oyu want a specific type of boots.

Yeah, I guess they do have to sell what's trendy. It would just be nice if they could also sell some normal fitting boots too.

I think it is pretty ugly...it is kind of a cowboy/cowgirl look, and I guess I've never been a fan of it. of course I guess there's people that don't like the way I dress either, so different strokes for different folks I guess right? Lol.

Yeah, everyone likes different fashions. I guess it would be nice though if stores could have a bigger selection to accomodate more customers.

yeah that would be me. hating it i mean. well, first of all this style makes short people like me look shorter because one's legs will be segmented. so no way that i'll even attempt this look. and it makes people look like they are jockeys or something. i don't really understand the look i guess!

I don't hate the look and think there's a time and place for it but not for work. I think it's appropriate for going out with friends to sports events or just to hang out, shopping and stuff like that. I wouldn't wear my pants tucked in for any reason.

Agreed - work is not the place for that style. I would think that stores would realize that there are lots of customers looking for something that can be worn in a professional setting - that's why I can't understand why they don't sell a least one or two pairs of regular fitting boots.

When I wear my rubber rain boots, I tuck my pants in. Otherwise from the knee down, I'll be covered and caked in mud and poo. But with my regular boots, no I do not tuck them in. I do not buy boots with the wide top so I can put my jeans or pants legs over the boots so my pants legs are on the outside. I do tend to stick to ankle boots. Short women like me don't need to wear tall boots anyway. Makes me look stumpy.
