I love Buf Pufs. They make me feel so clean. I love to lather them up with my favorite bodywash and get cleaning. My kids also like to use them. I watched a show the other day that said you have to replace them every month. I did not know that. I didnt think they could go bad. But they do, they dont work as well and get bacteria in them if you use them for long periods of time. Once a month I buy atleast 4-6 of them. They only cost a dollar a piece. Do you use a buf puf in the shower or bath??

I use them all the time. And i know it says on the tag "replace at least every 30 days." I got one the other day that was called sea foam sponge. You can get them at walmart. I like it better then any other one i have ever used. I also dont think you have to use as much body wash when using one of these compared to using a wash cloth.

TYhe sponges are nice to. I found though they seem to fall apart. I think my kids pick at them. So the other ones work better for us. I also like that you dont use as much body wash either. A little bit goes a LONG way with a buf puf!

I had one up until a few weeks ago that I used all the time. But my cat, Vixie, pretty much lives in the bathroom because all of the other cats pick on her, and she is always getting into my stuff. She managed to dig my Buf-puf out of my basket (from under everything else that was in it, mind you) and it became her favorite toy to chew on and bat around on the floor. She'd managed to "lose" it behind the clothes hamper, and when I pulled it out yesterday while I was sweeping, I discovered that it was beyond mangled and shredded! So I threw it away. So I guess the next time that I buy one of those for me, I will have to buy one for Vixie so that she'll leave mine alone....I hope! LOL

Yes, I heard that they have a short life before they become infected with bacteria. I use some anti bacterial soap on mine once or twice a week to keep it clean, which I think works well. I love my puffs, and my son loves them too. Been using them for him since he was a baby, the little animal ones are his favorite.

I love them, but what I do is throw them in the washing machine every so often. Then I hang them on the line to dry. Never put them in the dryer - the heat will destroy them. I also rinse mine under hot water when I get done. As for replacing my every month - I usually wait until they fall apart. If I buy the dollar ones at wal-mart, that is usually a week or 2. So I buy the more expensive ones at Batth and Bodyworks when they have them on sale 1/2 price. They last for several months.

when i get done with my bath i of course rinse the bath tub out and toss my buf puf in a mild mixture of bleach and water i leave it there untill the tub is rinsed then rinse the bleach off of it. I dont have to worry about bacteria forming on it and it also takes care of the soap scum that forms as well

This discussion had me confused at first. In the seventies and eighties I used a product called Buff Puff that was like a refinishing pad for your face. It was a pretty strong exfoliator. I could not imagine you giving one of these to your children, as their skin is too delicate. After reading I understood them to be what we call our shower poufy. I do not know if they have a name, and I have never read the label. I will rinse mine in vinegar, for the same reason the other person rinses hers in bleach. You can put it in the microwave and zap it for about thirty seconds as well. Of course the company would like you to buy new ones really regularly. It is money in their pocket.

I love to use them in the shower as it's by far the best way to get a few drops of shower gel to go a long way, as well as feeling great on the skin. As long as you rinse them and hang them out to dry I don't think you need to worry too much about bacteria. If you're using them every day the buffing effect will obvious reduce but this is a personal preference.

LOL. Its a sponge like thing you use in the shower. You put your soap or body wash on it and wash your self. It like a REALLY GOOD wash rag.

definately use a Buf-Puf! I love the feel of my skin all clean and dry skin free. I also replace the puf once a month and I just bought a body polisher, it is great for dry skin. I use mine in the shower and in the bath, they work great!

I also love using those and totally agree with you when you say that it makes you feel so clean. I too feel like I have a new skin, and I feel all refreshed; even younger! Make sure to top it off with a nice softly scented body lotion after to prevent drying and it'll feel ten times better. I usually just buy mine from Avon or actually end up getting them free if you order so many Bath & Shower Gels. I really stock up then. I too heard of only using them for a month or so and I usually replace mine within a month or if it starts to look really rough. Another good place to buy those is at a buck store, especially when you are throwing them away so often; no use in spending lots of money on them.
