yes, i am in the dark, too, about this founder thing. it has always been the discoverer which histories of countries talk about. i can still remember that the early parts of us history talks about how christopher columbus discovered the continent and started putting up base camps then.

Well, it is a matter of controversy for a number or reasons, these are the facts as I understand them make of them what you will.
Earliest immigration takes place by Peoples crossing the frozen bering sea from what is now Siberia.
Recent archaeological excavations revel ancient Jewish coins in Natve American burial grounds.
There is some evidence that Vikings traversed the sea
There is some evidence that St Brendon traversed the sea in a leather boat
There is an account of of an English man sailing to America before Columbus, interestingly his coat of arms was the stars and stripes.
all the best urban

us history so states that the discoverer of the americas was a group which hailed from britain and it was headed by christopher columbus. as for the founder, that must be a different story. although most of us would be inclined to think that it is synonymous to the discoverer, people may battle over terminologies and other scenes behind it all. since christopher columbus was under the roster of the british, i wonder if it is safe to say that it was the british government then. anyway, let us hope that an american historian shall come by and drop some comments on this issue, right, sweetpunch?
