What Are Some of the Best Ways to Celebrate a Birthday with a Significant Other?

I'm starting to brainstorm ideas for my boyfriend's upcoming birthday. We're both taking the day off from work so I can spoil him rotten - so I'm interested to know if anyone else has ideas for fun things to do. Originally I was going to get him a BlackBerry for his birthday - but I thought maybe instead I could use that money to take him on a shopping spree (he enjoys shopping more than me! Haha...). That way he can pick out stuff he likes, AND it will give us something fun to do for a few hours at least.
Anyone else ever done anything for their significant other's birthday that you think we might enjoy?

The breakfast thing is a really good idea! Unfortunately, he's in between apartments right now (weird, freak incident where his house fell through, but his apartment lease was up so he's living with his parents for a few months - BLEH!). I'll keep this in mind for next year though :)

Well look who showed up! How the heck are you? Take the BF window shopping. Take notes as to what he really likes and when he is not with you, go back and buy it.
Welcome back. Big huggers to you.

I want to take my husband out for a nice dinner. And then rent a hotel room for the night. Put rose petals on the bed, watch a movie, and have a good time{wink wink} Maybe one with a jacizzi in it!! That would be fun and something he would enjoy.

I did think about getting a hotel room for the day just so we have a private place to hang out (since he's living with his parents right now). I couldn't find one with a jacuzzi or anything, but the other problem is that I wouldn't be getting it for the night - it would just be for that day since I won't be spending the night with him. The issue there is that check-in is at 3 (kind of a waste of money if you can't even get into the room til the day is almost over anyway)... so I'd have to reserve a room for the day BEFORE his birthday too (twice as expensive)... :(

Well thats a bummer. I would take him out for a nice romantic dinner and take him shopping since you said he like to shop. Maybe catch a movie. I think as long as your with him he will be happy no matter what you decide to do!
