I gave my dog a bone this morning and apparently he wasn't eating it fast enough because my 10 month old grabbed a couple of very small pieces and stuck them in her mouth. I hurried and got them out, but she didn't look completely disgusted. lol

I knew a lady, several years ago, that used to give her babies, dog biscuits for teething. I thought it was pretty wierd, myself, and always bought mine baby teething biscuits, but not her. She said she always gave them dog biscuits, and so did other mothers in her family. I wouldn't recommend it, but more than likely, it won't hurt your baby. It certainly doesn't make you a bad mother for your baby picking up pieces of dog biscuits. Babies pick up all kinds of stuff, and put in their mouths. It could have been much worse. lol

Now that is definitely odd. I guess since they are harder it would take them longer to gum. I don't even give my daughter the baby teething biscuits anymore. Have you noticed that they just fall apart so much easier now than they used to?

I haven't noticed, my kids are all grown, and I don't think my grandkids, ever used them. They always used the freezer rings, and stuff. Take care.

Oh yes, that is nasty! My four kids all ate dog or cat food at one time or another. My oldest son really loved dog food. He was continually sneaking it. I would catch him with brown chunky drool all over his chin. I even went so far as to call the vet one day to make sure there wasn't any ingredient that could hurt him. The vet just laughed. I didn't mind the dog food as much as the fishy smell of the catfood. Thankfully, all of my kids are over eating petfood!!

That is funny Laura98,
I remember when my son was about that age and we were at a friends house. He had disappeared around the corner and when I went to get him, he was eating cat food. What made everyone laugh is when I said, "that is cat food and the cat food is for the cat," he said, "cat food, num, num."
So I guess cat food tastes good. :p

Thats what I used to say too and still do about most dogs...but not my dog. He is the best dog I could have ever asked for with my kids. She and my dog have a mutual love for each other. She can hold his dog toy with a rope and he'll barely pull on it. He tugs hard with my husband...but he is so gentle with her. She'll sit right by him while he's eating and he acts as if she isn't even there. Its really cute

Haha it wont hurt her!
My mother took pictures of me when I was 4 yrs old dressed in my Sunday clothes feeding our cocker spaniel, Duffy, eating right along with her.
She said I did that quite often, I dont remember it at all, I have the pictures to prove it!

it happens some times where the pet animals are their and small kids are playing are sitting near to them . always we should feed the pet animals in their places. that means there will be a place where pet animals take rest in your house , may be a small room or some corner . do not put any thing openenly where kids are also playing . this is very dangerous

My little guy eats dog food any chance he gets. He tries to take dog treats out of our small dog's mouths if they hang out at all! He also goes over to the dog bowl and takes out the pieces and puts them in the water, and then tries to sneak back and get them later. He likes them soft! lol They eat Pedigree Dog food that has several different shapes in it. He likes the little bone ones. We usually get him stopped before he eats it, but sometimes he is just too sneaky! He's especially bad when I'm cooking or something and distracted. I know he is in the kitchen with me, so I don't worry about him, and then he eats the dog food. lol
I'm just glad my dogs both love him and allow him to mess with their stuff. He can sit on top of them when they eat, and they just continue to eat. He can stick his hands in their mouths, too. I'm glad they aren't like a lot of dogs that bite anything close to them!

Girl, my daughter tried a dog biscuit on several occasions. She obviously didn't like it though. I guess her and her friend thought it would be a good idea at the time. My friends little sister used to eat them for snacks! I thought she was insane, but she loved them. It's purely harmless and they eventually will quit experimenting lol. It's really gross though hahha!

First off...don't criticize me as a parent when you aren't one yourself. How is a 10 MONTH OLD naughty? She's curious. She thought it was something she could eat because the dog was. I was there the whole time. I keep an eye on my kids. When you have kids, you try to watch them every second of every day and then you can talk to me.
Also, because YOU ARE NOT A PARENT you don't realize that at 10 months babies have learned to try and mash whats in their mouth down with their gums before swallowing. I also said it was a small piece and I got it right out. My suggestion...if you don't know anything about parenting or children...don't respond in a criticizing manner. Thanks.

Oh Hawaiiblue, if you knew what was in some of the processed food we eat, cat or dog food is probably healthier. And I never heard of anyone getting sick from eating it, so it can't be that dangerous.

wow Hawaiiblue,
YOU ARE SO OFF BASE! I think before commenting on a subject you should atleast have a basic knowlege of the discussion. being a parent my self i know that kids do put stuff into there mouth that are gross. last time i checked dog/cat food has never killed anyone. kids will be kids and that does not make them naughty???????? I think that what you meant to say????? Any ways laurla98 that was funny.
