IS it really okay to keep breastfeeding afte the age of one? I have this friend who is dating this girl and still breast feeds her two year old. They will be watching a movie and the little boy will be going back and forth to each breast, almost like he is just playing. He sits at the table and has a regular dinner with the adults and even drinks milk in a sippy cup. When he is done he says to his mother "down". Down means that she is to whip it out and feed him again. She even lets him sleep with her while he is breast feeding. I know that that is not good for his teeth. What are your opinions? I think that if he is eating and drinking real food and milk he shouldn't be breast feeding. He is on a regular diet and on top of that basically getting even more calories from his mother. I mean like even if she doesn't want to stop I feel like she should be using the pump

I think it's a personal choice as well. I'm planning on letting ym daughter wean herself. Child led weaning. When they're done, they'll let you know...And even after my aughter is done, then she'll be getting milk from me out of her cup at dinner!
