That is a truly touching and tragic story. Your right, some people don't realize what special gifts they have and then throw them away when their status changes or things become better in life, like this stupid girl did in this story. But this story is a good example and a good way to tell it! Thanks!

Touching is really not enough to describe something so tragic. I do not know if this is a true or not. But, is a definite testimony of how shallow people can really be. This is a very sad story.

Unfortunately this is such a true indication of what most humans are like.

Wow I was very touched by this and sad too. What a shame that she did this to her boyfriend that donated his eyes to her and yet she turned him down all because he is blind I think that is very rude of her and I wonder how she felt after he wrote her say Please take care of my eyes.

I have read this before, it is really a touching story that full of meaning. And i agree with you, i know many people like this, after being in a very hard times of their life and luckily becomes prefessionals or gain a lot of money dont ever look back to the people that helped them before.

You are right that often people do change as their status changes. Although there is a saying that you should be good to the people you meet on the way up as you might meet them again one day when you are on the way back down. A sweet touching little story.

That was very touching ang hurting story. How i wish the girl did not change so they can get married. Love is mysterious, love can give you everything and love changes everything.

If somebody did me such a service, I would never turn my back on them. I can see what you are saying about change effecting people - but to me it seems that we all need to wake up to this transient existence on our planet. The Buddha discovered in his enlightenment that the source of all suffering is desire. And looked at carefully I can see that whenever I have really wanted something, there was an element of doubt and the way I see doubt is that even when small, it can grow stronger each time we experience it, and doubt tends to bring anxiety and fear into the equation. As a Zen practitioner, I see acceptance of what is, as a path to true liberation. :-)

blind or not, its not the case, dont ever felt that were pathetic, someone carry a heavy load than ours. being blid does not mean that we cannot do an impossible thing. Helen Keller is also a blind person but she made it in history. We need to know our worth.

I am so touched by the girl's boyfriend, who donated his eyes to the girl who later gave him up. It was cruel of the girl, who betrays her promise. I think that after she heard him telling her to take care of his eyes, she will probably make some changes to make her promise to marry him? This is what I am thinking about. I hope that there is a good ending and a good return to the poor young man to make it fair to him for his kindness and loving heart. God bless him.

Its a sad story.I read it again and again.I thought this blind girl didnt deserve her boyfriend's love since she was a self-fish person who broke her promise at last.I hope its not a true thing since its too cruel to this knid guy.I believe the girl would definitely regret after a while.Also the story reminds us to cherish what we already have in our daily life.

I am so sad to have read this story. I am so touched with this guy that he did everything for this girl just for the sake of marrying her and to have a happy marriage. But, unfortunately, this girl is hesitant and do not want to marry him. I hope the girl should have listened first before she refused. This story is very touching and you would really learn something out of it. In this story, it shows that love can do anything, love can sacrifice, love can make another person happy, but on the other hand, love can also hurt you. However, we have to take the positive outcome of love. Truly a touching story, almost had tears in my eyes while reading it. I was truly shocked, but I know there are people like this in the world who love others more than themselves and then get paid for it in the same manner. It hurts to see how even love doesn't take stand in such people's hearts. How they can turn down lovers on the basis of there looks or what they have. As in the story the girl deceived the boy's love who gave his eye to the girl, knowing that he may never be able to see again and that too only to stay with her most loved mate for ever. But then this is what happens to him. It very difficult to find true lovers today. I don't know who has one. But really if you are getting loved consider yourself blessed and if you are loving someone consider yourself gifted. Love is the most rarest jewel today, save it and don't loose it or throw it away. Its the only thing, the rate of which increases many folds over years and what it pays back can never be bought with any kind of richess. Take Care May GOD Bless YOU

I am not quite sure what to make of this story as there are certainly several messages here..... There are most certainly many material people on this earth that are influenced by things that really do not mean anything at all; just look at some of the unbelievably arrogant and unattractive rich people out there that have "super models" hanging off their arms! This story (or parable/fable or whatever you wish to call it) is sad on so many levels :( I hope it makes those who read it think.

Hi cherriemae, hope all is well. The story was very sweet until the girl could see and said she wouldn't marry her boyfriend because he was blind, and in fact he gave her his eyes. I could never imagine changing like that just because my status has changed somehow! Sadly though most people are like that!
