Combining A Camera & Telescope

hello guys,
i bought my camera like recently, & i'm thinking if i can put my camera & telescope together to capture pictures of the moon & stuff. just wondering if anyone of you tried doing the same thing, & wat are the things needed for this kind of project. by the way, I got Canon S3 IS & a cheap telescope 600mm with 1.25" eyepiece. thanks

I'm not sure if you can use your camera with a telescope. Your camera is a point and shoot and therefore you cannot remove the lens. If you had a DSLR, you could remove the camera's lens and use the telescope in place of a lens. To do this you just need a T-mount adapter for your camera and a T-mount adapter for the telescope.
