What do you think of my Iridescent Sharks? We have a 75 gallon fish tank and we bought these sharks when they were about 2 inches in size, just babies, now we have had them over 12 years, they are over a foot long, close to a foot and a half. They are over running the tank:)

Wow! Those are neat looking sharks OURDEW! I have always been fascinated by aquariums. I just have 2 bettas, an albino one and a red one. You can't put them in the same tank though because they will attack eachother!

Actually hun I know exactly what your saying. My 2 betta fish used to eat the roots of the plants as well. They then gave up on it so the plants went bad and had to be thrown out, but my bettas are still in vases so they have a ton of room!

Thank you! I had a blue betta a few years ago. I had it in a glass vase with a plant on top. The bottom was covered with purple stones. The roots from the plant were in the vase with the fish so he could eat the roots. I don't think I am explaining this too good, I will look for a picture so you could understand what I am saying.:)

Hi Ourdew, the sharks look beutiful to me ;) But is there a chance they'll bite fingers off if someone tried to touch them? And how nice it is that they live for so long? What is the life time span of such sharks?

Your sharks are really neat. So seeing as they don't bother the other fish in the tank, what do they eat? Great picture by the way!

Iridescent sharks are "schooling fish" that should be in "schools" of three or more. They also get to be over two foot long (I have seen some that were over 3 foot long). I am glad that you have them in at least a 75 gallon tank but they should have a much larger tank to give them more swimming room. Also they are related to some catfish that grow to over 12 foot long in their natural range but they are uncommon and actually endangered.
