Do you ever search before posting?

Come on...own up, do you do a search on Mylot to see if a discussion you want to start has already been started or do you just go ahead and post anyway. I must admit I search only about 1 in 10 of my discussions as it seems so many people do not search at all. Maybe we should start protesting about the amount of discussions all on the same subject and asking the same questions. Maybe it is a good thing to have discussions recycled all the time, it means that the topics are interesting. What do you think? p.s. I did not search to see if this was already started!!

The most of the times I don't.The reason is I prefer post discussion that have to do about me personally so even if a start a discussion about *my holidays *and many people else did same I just speak about my holidays, where I go what i did etc.....Same post but different for each one person. Now if I start something general I try do search at least the last few days.

No I don't but I don't start many convos. A little off topic, if you see a really old discussion at the bottom of the page do you reply? If I notice it's old I won't reply but if I don't notice I'll reply but feel a bit dumb afterwards.

Same here, I don't reply to the old ones too. It seems a bit silly to reply to something the poster probably already forgot about.

To tell you honestly, I've been through topics similar to these many times. But it doesn't matter, because I know that other topics such as this are all forgotten by others and do not intend to respond at. I don't really worry much about it, because the admin does discussion clean-ups every end of the month and before payment. They only pay those who deserves to get payed, delete and discard those posts that for them is "low" quality. So there's no need to worry, since the number of this site's population grows more and more everyday/time and we cannot avoid such repeatitive postings. Afterall, though others have the same posts, topics and the way it was written may differ one another..

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. It depends on the topic and if I think that it is likely that the discussion has already been started. If it's a common topic, I will either just respond to the existing ones or I will make sure to put a new twist on the topic. How often do I check? Probably 20-30 percent of the time. There was a time when I never checked, but I do check more frequently now. Obviously if I'm posting about stuff going on in my personal life, I don't need to check. There is only one me. (fortunately for the world!) But if it's a general topic, then I do check.

I've only started two topics so far, and I did search for an answer before posting the first one. Didn't find anything, but maybe I just didn't enter the right keywords. I didn't bother doing it for the second one because it was about something recent (at the time of posting), and no new topics had been posted in that interest since it happened, so I knew there wasn't any topics about it without having to search. =] I think it'd be nice if people searched first before asking questions. It gets a little tiring seeing the same topics repeated every day. Y'know, stuff like "What's that star beside my name?", "How are earnings calculated?", "Why was my post deleted?"... I see topics about those every freaking day, and those aren't interesting topics at all...

Hi,I'm new here, so have just been getting acquainted--hanging around the forum, reading, posting, commenting, but not starting any discussions. However, the search-or-not-search problem has come into my mind a few times, and my conclusion is this: if my intended discussion was of a personal nature or wasn't what most would call generic, I wouldn't search. After all, there's only one me. So, even if similar topics exist, mine willl still have a unique spin--as would any personal topic anyone would post. In other words: we're all different, and the non-generic topics we start reflect this. If it's something generic, I most likely will search, especially given I'm new around town--as it were--and haven't been around to become fimiliar with what discussions have and have not been given some form of attention.

I dont start too many discussions at all, they are far and few in between...But I always make sure that I search before posting it..Theres probably nothing worse than posting it and then 20 other discussions similar..

Hi there buddy, what's been up to lately? Well, actually sometimes i do check 1st if there's some discussions that similar with the topic that im going to post. But you know what buddy, Mylot has a huge amount of members here, so it's imposible to have a topic that you're the only one who posted it you know? Even though all of has have our own opinions, i am really sure that there's also someone out there who thinks what im thinking. So we will never know indeed if we're the only one who posted a topic here that we thought is Unique. And also, we can't blame anyone why myLot is having lots of discussions that talks about the same thing like, "If myLot really Pays?" "What is the meaning of the Star" and yada yada... Because, myLot is having lots of new members who joined here everyday. And we have to admit that when we are a newbie here also, We tend to post discussions that talks about the reliability of this site and more other things. Have a nice day ahead and happy posting and earning here in myLot Kiko

I have always been around and I kind of know what discussions are around, and I admit that I don't search mylot when it comes to more personal discussions. But I do search when it's a more generic one. Also, sometimes I see a similar discussion and I would just respond instead of initiating a discussion.

I confess I almost never, read that as never, search. However, in my defense I just don't start that many discussions and when I look at the similar discussions given at the bottom, none of them are really very similar at all. So I tend to have a different take on even the ones that supposedly have similar discussions.

Not really. because i only poosted my replies to those discussions I am very familiar with or somehow has an idea. I only participate on those kinds of discussions that I am sure can impart knowledge and good idea.
