Spider killing?

Do you kill spiders everytime you see one in your house, or at least try to? I usually leave them alone unless they are invading my space too much by being somewhere that is very inconvenient or just plain too close. Otherwise I figure they are good to have around since they kill bugs. I don't have a lot of bugs but if the spiders can get most of the ones I do have, that is fine with me. I read somewhere that a person is never more than, I think it was, 3 feet from a spider. So just out and out killing is useless anyway. So do you let them be like me?

YEs, usually I let them be, specially beacuse they eat bugs, but whe they get so close, and they are big I have to say that I aske them to leave, and if they do not do it, I kill them or take them out!
With fire ants, I just kill them, because I am allergic to them!

I used to, but since we got our cat I no longer have to.
The cat makes very short work of anything that may wander in.
My wife told me that last night a medium sized wolf spider had a bad accident in the living room involving the cat.

A few years ago one of my supervisors lost a couple of toes because of a recluse hiding in his shoe.
I don't ask for ID's and what the cat misses I nail on sight.
Outside they are fine and where they belong...inside they are fair game.

I love that, a bad accident involving the cat...lol I have 2 cats and I still find spiders in the house ALOT (which I do kill!) so could I borrow your cat to teach my cats what to do with spiders?
Also, a neighbor of my daughter was bitten by what we think was a brown recluse and he came very close to losing his leg. Thank God he's fine now, but it was a close one. So I say die, spider, DIE!

Well the thought of a spider crawling all over my body as I sleep gives me the chills! If I see one in my house I don't kill it, I try to pick it up gently with a kleenex and out it outside, I wouldn't sleep at nigght if I let them stay in the house.

Do I kill spiders everytime I see them? Yes and no. The daddy long legs that just sit in their webs in the corners I leave alone for a bit, but the webs get huge if they're left too long. If I see other types of spiders, though, yes, I kill them. I'm scared of spiders most of the time and I don't want them around. I know there's many I can't see (although, I could have done without hearing what you read, lol), but seeing one and knowing that it's still around (if it was left alive), scares me a lot. I get freaked out. So, those I kill or have my husband kill if I'm too scared to do it myself. I'd rather have bugs than spiders.

I have a terrific fear and hatred of them, so I kill them every time I see them. Some of them are very poisonous if they bite you, and since I'm not sure which ones, I kill every one I see in my home. If they want to live outdoors, fine, just not in my home. About two weeks ago, I had a very large black spider in my shower, while I was trying to bath. Apparently, it was clinging to the shower curtain and dropped down as soon as I got in the shower. I totally freaked out and killed it on the spot.

In the U. S. the there are mainly two spiders that are possible harmful to humans, the black widow(red hour glass on it stomach and rest very black) which are quite small and the brown recluse which is larger and not as poisonous. When I was in the Army I had a spider drop down on my shoulder when I was in the shower, it got away.

I have a very simple bug policy: I go into their world, I'm fair game. They come into my world, they're going to die - unless my husband is there to escort them out. Or, unless their crickets, because supposedly, it's bad luck to kill crickets.
I also don't kill lady bugs or beetles, unless they look too close to a cockroach.
Everything else: Totally squashable if it's inside my house.

I'm glad I don't think crickets are lucky because I kill them if they get in the house because they make such a noise and because they will eat your clothes. Lady bugs are beneficial, so if I find any in the house which is almost never, I try to put them outside.

I used to, but ever since I have been reading Spider-Man on a monthly basis, I do my best not to kill them anymore, I just let them be if I can.

I dont kill them, to me killing without purpose is murder so only unless i was unfortunate enough to live somewhere where they could hurt me would i consider such forms of action. Usualy I just gather the spider up on a piece of paper and put it outside. Also, i will give it a blessing as i send it on its way as it leaves my home
blessed be

I kill spiders on sight. I don't want them in my house, I don't want to think of them crawling over me or my guests, and it just seems dirty to me. I know they'll be around, bugs always are, I just don't care to leave them be.

It should not be like whenever you see spiders you shoul rush to kill them, but yeah if you find some spider in you own living room then you have full right to kill that crap..lolz , for me i dont even have the courage to kill a spider...if anything as such happens with me that i am surrounded by spiders, i would rather prefer to run away from them instead of killing them.

i am scared of anything that is crawling like cockroach, insects and spiders. i don't like them but i can't kill them, usually i just ask somebody to help me get them from my room or place where i don't want them to be there. But i don't ask them to kill it. Some people can kill it but i won't look. it's just gross i think.

The spider covers most part of my house. Ofcourse it seems to make some dirties into the house. It makes lot of dust and we often clean for it. In a week we spend a lot of time to clean the house ,because of spider. So iam supposed to kill spiders almost.

Spiders are actually the ONLY bug I don't kill, in fact I welcome them into my home with open arms! They eat the nasty pesky flies and other creepy crawlies! They are my favourite insect and I never kill them and I always rescue them from the bath from being drowned. Watching them weave their webs is fascinating and I love it when they snare an insect the way they catch them and wind them up. Nature is brilliant and the humble spider does so much good!

Yeah I let them be. They're more scared of us than we are of them. Of course if it's a dangerous spider like a red-back then it is important to kill them as they pose a threat to any people/animals/kids that are around. If it's a spider like a Huntsmen I just leave them. In fact they eat all the cockroaches and creepy crawlies! To be honest people who scream and then proceed to attack spiders with a spray can of chemicals really annoy me. For goodness' sake it's only a spider!

if i see a spider i usually will leave it alone. unless it gets near me, i'll quickly walk away from where i am until it disappears. i wouldn't want it to start crawling on me or something. eww.

Hi Stealthy, and no, I never kill them. When I am cleaning the spider webs at home and there are spiders in it I take a piece of paper and make sure to let them free out side the house. They are so good at catching flies, and these I really hate having in my house or around the house in the summer. I am also superstitious and like the Italians never kill spiders because they are known to bring cash in the household :) This cross spider photo I took in our garden.
