Do you have any particular ritual that you do as a family on weekends?

What is it? What do you do? Most people get their breaks from work on weekends, the time to relax and time to bond with the rest of the family. My husband has only Sundays off so we make sure that we all bond on this day. What we do almost every Sunday, is, we eat lunch at home then we get ready to go to a mall. We go to a play place so my daughter can enjoy. Then when everyone is tired we eat dinner at a restaurant. Then we go home. That's what we do almost every Sunday. What's yours?

I live with my hubby and his elder sister in our own house. My son and my nephew are working in the other states.
When my son comes home normally in every other weekend, we usually take our breakfast out side. After that we will go for a country drive in the nearby area. When we come to a hill side we will then take a walk there enjoy the scenery and the fresh air there.
My son’s favorite is fried instant noodle which is prepared by my hubby. We all help my husband to prepare the stuffs, like peeling onions, garlic, tomatoes and cutting chilies. There are lots of funs for a family to work together in a kitchen with happy chatting and joking.
In the evening we will go to a hill nearby where we normally do our hiking for a distance about nearly four km to and fro. It usually takes us about two and a half

That sounds a very refreshing family get together. I would love to be where you are. We don't have anything as nature like that anywhere near here. That sounds really homey and fun. And plus you get to somehow work out a little and even get fresh air. Thanks Ikbooi for sharing. You do have a wonderful way of family rituals.

Hi sophylline, first, I would like to thank for marking mine as the best response.
I feel glad indeed to have your appreciation of my simple family life here. To me I believe simplicity is a source of happiness as it does not involve much complication of social life. I do cherish the moment we could spend together with our loved ones and this is definitely money that cannot buy.
I sincerely hope that you do enjoy your family life all the time and have happy moment with your loved one as well.

You are welcome, Ikbooi. I do feel your response was a very ideal routine way to do as a family. My gesture was not based solely on that but also, I love the outdoors, the nature, beautiful scenery, fresh air, and that makes me long for that. Plus, the camaraderie of your small family is quite nice. I do believe firmly of the simplicity is a source of happiness. Very much. So, I find out that we agree on that one.(: So, I truly enjoy your responses. Thank you for your sincerity.

Our weekend routine is more on general house-cleaning, it's what we mostly do.
We do this is harmony, working together and performing our designated chores in the house. After that, we all rest and eat lunch. Then when afternoon comes we all go out to our different ways, like be with our friends or go to a 6 o'clock mass.

That's interesting to know, raijin. That is a great way for your parents to keep your family work together to make your home more orderly, harmoniously, and organized. It seems to make each one of you in the family have a responsibility to make your house a home. Thank you for sharing.
