"HE IS 16, SHE 40 UNUSUAL COUPLE PUT POLICE IN FIX"
The boy ,a class X student, and the woman, a dance teacher, chatted on the internet for a long time before deciding to meet. The boy told police they then fell madly in love with each other.
On the lookout for a 16 year old missing boy, the police search ended on thursday when they came across a couple, who claimed to be legally married, in Nangloi in West Delhi. While the missing boy turned out to be the husband, his wife was 40 years old.
This is a news in the Times of India, Bangalore Edition dated 21.09.07
Do you think that this as an unusual relationship. How you will consider such type of relationships in your respective countries. What is your personal opinion about such relationships ?

I'm all for "May - December" relationships BUT NOT necessarily when one person is under the age of 18-19.....and certainly not when one is 16....I'm not saying its not possible especially considering I dated much older men when I was a teen...HOWEVER in todays society I get very leery about relationships like that simply because #1 we really are never told much about the life, history etc of the younger partner which IMO is a HUGE factor and #2 there are SO MANY cases of predators playing the role and reeling these younger kids in etc you HAVE TO wonder what the truth of the relationship is ya know...

It has happened here well not marriage but 16 year olds and adults but ummmm the adults always end up going to court. I mean 16 year old is a kid not even close to being an adult much less able to be a husband. Different countries do different things but here in the USA that wouldn't be accepted to well.

Here in our country, that boy cannot marry her since he is underage and a minor. I am also a MAY-December affair but not that young,I'm 8 years older than my husband and we are both passed the legal age. I mean a 10 year age gap or even 15 or more is ok as long as the other one is in her/his legal age to decide..or else you would be charged with corruption of minors.

Here in the US it's against the law. I'm totally against it. If they still feel the same when he becomes of age, then go for it. I guess I don't understand what a 40 year old could see in a teenager. I'm 40 and I just can't imagine it. If my son would of ended up in this same situation, I would of fought tooth and nail to put an end to it.

Age really doesn't matter in a relationship. I don't think there's anything wrong if the husband happens to be younger than the wife. But 16??????I don't think a 16 year old would be mature enough to judge whether he/she is really in love. And what was the 40 year old thinking????I wouldn't call it an unusual relationship...I would call it cradle snatching!!

I think everyone is entitled to May-December romances, but not when one of the partners is under 18. In the United States this would not be acceptable. We do have issues here where teachers and their students end up partnering and they end up in jail because it is illegal here. Older people should take more responsibility for their actions rather than acting upon their lust.

WOW! I think this is a very unusual story. I doubt that the boy's mature enough to play the role of a husband, though. He's only 16 and I wonder how he's going to earn money? Maybe the guy has a mother complex, so he feels comfortable being with the much older woman. At least if he has a mother complex, it makes more sense that it happened he he he...
