What's a good teacher in the new century?

Although this topic is rather old,it really does matter to our education systems nowadays.
Some people think the most important thing is that a good teacher should have considerable knowledge.
However,some people think it is very important for a teacher to have the spirit of devotion.
To this question,people have various opinions?
So what's your idea,guys?

no i dont think dis 1 is an old topic 2 discuss rather its 1 of d issues "we students" r facing everyday n we cant do nethg bout it........coz our teachers r d 1 who promote us to the next yr as everythg is in their hands.......
but i personally think tat these teachers shud not only hav good knowledge but also the ability to teach tat 2 students till d time they understand it complelety..........
n teachers shud not hav an issue with d attendance in college coz i basically feel tat it hardly matters.......c we may sit in lectures 4 attendance sake but then we may not concentrate on the topic n hence we may distract others who r really interested..........
