He said "It can't be". So this would suggest that the boy is Stephen, whom we wouldn't necessarily recognise as he has been away for long enough to have grown up quite a bit and to have changed. I can't think of anyone else who would have warranted such a reaction.

hi cheers and i can now confirm it was stephen, i thought that all along, i was gutted when i missed that last line after waiting for ages to find out lol
