I used to sleep 8 hours a day but I can be contented having 6 hours of sleep at night before going to work.
But this week I noticed that I can't sleep early at night and that leaves me only 4 hours of sleep a day. So far my body is still on the go and still active though may blood pressure is getting lower and lower.

It all depends on my schedule of work. Mostly i work late in the night and need to get up early in the morning for getting my children ready for school so my sleep time is quite limited mostly from 5 to 6 hours. But on days when i feel too exhausted i cut down on my night work and give my body rest to get rejuvinated for the next day.

like you, the answer is - it all depends. It's now late -or early in the morning and I'm busy on the computer - a sign that there is very little rest for the wicked ;)

On average about 8-10 hours, sometimes more on weekends. Depends on how late I stay.

I can do well on 6 hours, though I can get by on 4 hours, but not all of the time.
Have you considered taking melatonin. It is a natural sleep aid and it works.
Also you may wan to consider scheduling an hour or so for a nap during the day. I find that about 20-30 minutes of a nap makes a world of difference in my energy level.

I normally sleep an average of five to six hours a night, sometimes even four hours. Although this is less than the recommended (of eight hours I think), I am used to it already. I never like to sleep too early before midnight. My wife is a teacher, and she has to get up at 6am to have breakfast and go to work. Normally, I will accompany her, so whatever the time I get to bed the night before, I still have to wake up at 6am. The only exceptions are the weekends.

I really need a lot of sleep. I need between 7-8h of sleep minimum and when I'M off can easily sleep 10h. I always been a good sleeper. I also like to sometimes take naps in the afternoon. Right now I'M pregnant and I know that the first months with the baby will be very hard because I will have less sleep. But I will sleep when the baby take a nap :P

your not alone i been suffering it for all of my life. sometimes getting better sometimes it worst.i even try alot of sleeping pills.and ask adviced to some yoga teacher, and psychiatriest. it works at first but still comming back, in your case its knew so you have to be aware of it.it might not help lot but. i guess your problem now is only the body clock, try to get your body clock. or exact time when you get into bed.and follow that every night, i try that before its work but not too long becouse of my job realy killing, but when im free for 2 days i try to take sleeping pills and sleep it over to recover. good luck buddy.

I sleep a few hours (4-5 hrs) each night for a few nights and then after that I sleep like 10-12 hrs for the next few nights to catch up on lost hours previously. That's my pattern of sleeping :)

In my case, I normally have to get sleep at least six hours in the night. If I sleep less than six hours I will feel bad in the next day. But sometime, it happen to me for some reasons that I could not get my minimum sleeping time, for example if my children sick, I mostly stay awake until I'm sure that they can sleep well in the night. So what I need to do if I sleep less than six hours is drinking more coffee in the day, so I will not feel sleepy during the day.

i think you do not need to worry about that.these maybe just the habit for sometimes,if you feel active, not need to worry too much about that, and this may change to the former habit again.
frankly speaking, 4 hours is really a short time for a person to sleep, but if you think it does not affect you too much, so just do not always mention it ,your body may adjust itself again
D0 hope all things with you are OK! best regards !

This little puppy loves to sleep! On my days off, I can sleep up to 12 hours a night. I need to get at least 6 hours of good sleep, or I will be messed up the next day, and very cranky.
My body doesn't really suffer from sleep, but that's because I'm only 26. My brain, however, is highly active, and therefore suffers terribly when I don't get enough sleep. Lately, I haven't been getting enough sleep because I have a really hectic schedule, filled with a bunch of useless stuff that I can't get out of at the moment, so I'm tired!! My bed looks so cozy and I want to hop in...
Don't you sometimes wish we didn't have to sleep? Think about all the stuff that could be accomplished if you had a full 24 hours to do it?
Unfortunately, we don't live in such a perfect world, so we must get our sleep. Lack of sleep is bad for the immune system and brain function, so everyone, make sure you get your sleep!
