Getting children to behave at church

This morning at church my daughter would not behave. We sat in the cry room and she wanted to walk around and play the whole time. Anytime we tried to get her to sit quietly with us, she would scream and cry. Any suggestions?

I believe that its their nature..to play around and wouldnt behave even if they are inside the church.. I suggest not to bring your child with you..

I wish I could leave her in the nursery. Unfortunately, it's only open during one service and it's not one we can attend. I would love to let her play somewhere else until she's a little older and can understand better.

I agree with what a couple others have already said - give her time learning to sit quietly away from church and taking crayons and coloring books. Our church provides zip-lock bags with a few crayons, printed pictures to color and even small toys or games that fit in the bags.

The problem you are facing can be solved easily, the answer is to train her to sit quietly at home or in some other mundane place, reward her for success. Then move to less usual environments and repeat. Finally, when you have trained her take her to Church. all the best urban

You have a Very Intelligent Daughter. She knows church is for idiots who can't think for themselves, and she is right! God did not invent Religion or Church. People did, and it was for Two reasons and neither was about God. The Two reasona are Money and Power. Your daughter was born knowing this. Have some respect for her intiution and don't drag her off to church anymore.
