favorite books

What are the best fiction and nonfiction books you've ever read? I'm always looking for something new to read but there seems to be so much junk out there.

Some of the best books I've read are: The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Lovely Bones, Water for Elephants. These are all fiction. I don't read as much non fiction but some of the better ones I've read are: We Are All the Same, A Million Little Peices and Shaking Hands with the Devil.

I've read The Kite Runner, and I know the plot of The Lovely Bones. Both are good, but my grip with them, as with so much modern fiction, is that they're so depressing! Doesn't anyone write happy books any more?

i don't waste a lot of time reading fiction. now before everyone gets mad at me, first i have to tell you i dont have a lot of time to read and i am a history fanatic, so that is pretty much what i read. I find non fiction the best to read.
