Any writers out there? What are you working on?

Both myself and my husband like to write fiction in our spare time. Does anyone else enjoy writing? I tend to stick to historical dramas but I'm using nanowrimo this year to try sci-fi.

I WriMo too, but I'm trying fantasy/comedy this year.
A caffine addict half elf, raised by humans, who can't cast worth his butt hit on a witch, and was cursed to grow a squirrel tail everytime he gets a caffine fix. Trouble is, he's a caffine addict.
The tail gets in his way at the most inopportune moments. So he embarks on a quest to find a cure.
In the quest to find a cure, he tries to break his caffine addiction. Jittery and irritable, armed with metal claw things and no hand-eye coordination, he doesn't realise that the tail is a chick magnet -- for the wrong kind of chicks.
A squirrel falls in love with him and his luscious tail (and claws). She won't leave him alone, even when it's gone. She doesn't understand why he pushes her away or that he is a elf.
Or that was the general idea. Except I got stuck after 100 words

Just the description was enough to get me interested, lol. I could never write that. I would get myself totally lost after the first chapter. That is probably one that will take a lot of planning out. Good luck on it, though.

I know. Someone else gave me the gem, and I added onto it. Feel free to throw out an idea to add onto it. ^^

Today, I have written 2500 words on a book, in my journal and now here. When I get finished with this, I'm going to work on an article for WD.
It's strange the many turns one's life can take. One minute you are going in one direction, then something happens to send you another way. I'm getting ready to make another change in my life. I've come to the point where I see I don't have to prove anything. If Itake all I have learned throughout my writing career so far and apply it, I can be exactly where I wanted to be when I started. I've taken so many little sidetrips, trying to do this and that, when in reality all I really should have been doing, all I wanted to do, was sit and write. That's where I'm headed. I've got a plan. Over the next year, there are going to be some big changes. I will get to where I want to be. I know I will.
Keep writing.
