olive oil is also good for a baby who had ear infections. My mother told me to warm some oil near your skin for a while (until its body temperature) and then put a drop or two in the ear that hurts. I did this with my children and with in minutes they stopped crying and fell asleep

That is a great tip, aaidjs. I don't know why I haven't thought of using extra virgin olive oil before when my baby was still small and experiencing some kind of problem with her skin. My daughter's skin is quite sensitive. My pediatrician told me that my daughter has skin asthma. I just used the baby lotion of Enfant. It is mild and non irritating. But I do not use other baby products as I know they have some chemicals that would quite be harsh even to some baby's skin. I think I would probably try olive oil to moisturize my baby's hair as sometimes she gets to have unruly hair.

I was taught by my mother to use the olive oil for the baby's skin. My daughter was overdue and her skin was peeling and discoloured. Beleive me the olive oil cleared up everything and her skin is beautiul apart from the cutrs and bruises she has acquired in her outdoor activities. It is really good for the skin and I used it when I wa pregnant to oil my belly because when it was stretching as the baby grew I used to feel some burning sensation and it did help. I have no stretch marks because of this too.

Oh, this is a great tips! Thanks! I also believe on natural oils than those being fabricated. Even they are saying those highly commercialized oils are good for the skin, baby's skin in particular, there are still risks because of the chemicals being mixed with it. Unlike natural oils like olive and rosemary, it is so natural that it really has a good effects on our baby's skin.

I think that these old time remidies are the best of all. Even though some of them sound weird they really work.

Your page is gone now, but I do feel that natural things are much better than artificial oils. I use olive oil for cooking and I read that in the Bible, that olive oil was used for a lot of things, so it stands to reason that it will make a good baby oil and keep the baby's skin as smooth as possible.
