Back on Sept. 20 or there about, I read about a check being sent to someone. I responded by telling you that I had gotten the same thing from the same corp. and that I deposited my check, but put a 10 day hold on it. Well, the check came back to me as conterfeit. I'm so glad that I didn't send anything to them before it cleared. It was a check for $2995.50, I was suppose to wait 2 to 3 days for the check to clear, and send a money order to pay my agent, and so on and so forth. Then I was suppose to recieve $116,000.00 out of the $120,000.00. Well, needless to say, I hope no one else fell for it. I'm gald I talked to my bank about it, and put a hold on it for 10 days. Of course, I wasn't going to do anything until it cleared my account. People will go to extremes to get money, and take advantage of others.

I went through a somewhat similar scam a few years ago while I was trying to sell a vehicle. I got a response from someone and the person sent a check that was alot more than what I had asked for the vehicle. I knew it was bogus and went to the bank that I use plus called the bank that the check supposedly had come from and of course it was all fake. We all need to remember that if it sounds too good to be true then it probably isn't real.

I dont see how someone cannot see that that kind of behavior shows its a scam.
If you cant cash in your check yourself, there is a reason why. Aka its not legal or youre trying to cheat someone. I wouldnt even touch it if came my way.
Its nothing but a new and clever nigeria letter, that will cost you money.

Its good that you found out it was a scam before sending them any money. I receive multiple emails a week saying that i won money. And its always very large amounts of money. I know its a scam though. I just feel bad for people that get taken by scams like this. The checks they send you in the mail also look so real! A bank can usually tell because sometimes it doesnt have the watermark.

Scammers are those who can't or won't make an honest living. They don't have to cheat people to get money.

Good thing you were victimize by these people who gets money from their prey. Better be careful especially with money matters. There are really a lot of people out there who are after money in expense of others. They don't really care if where the money they are getting comes from but they are just really after the money.

I get quite a few of those "offers" in my e-mail, which I either delete or report to the scammer's ISP. Since I work in a news department, I also hear about elderly people being scammed out of money. The scammers claim they're in a bind where they need cash, so they offer to write the victim a check (which turns out to be phony) if the victim withdraws money from his/her account to help out the scammers.
