What do you fear the most in life?
Unable to find a good permanent job? Ghosts? Snakes? Dying in poverty? Losing the one you love? Being hit by a drunk driver? Being alone? Being abandoned?, Being poisoned?,???
My personal opinion is that our fear changes as we grow up. It depends on the present surrounding environment we live in. It also depend on our lifestyles. Rich people fear what the poor might not and vice versa. Young people fear what the old people might think ridiculous and funny.
Okay, apart from fearing God, (for the believers), what else do you fear the most in life?
Ultimate question, what is your greatest FEAR in life as of today?

Hi there pixel!
Honestly, right now,my greatest fear would be losing my love ones, my parents are old and now becoming weak and weak, they are not as strong as before and I have not yet prepared my self for them leaving this world. Hubby always tell me that it is inevitable and that I have to accept the fact that they cannot be here forever.
Just the thought of it makes me cry...

hi Cefaz!
He's right! they (parents) don't live forever - but their memories do. You're not alone in this - we all are.
So, i guess the only way to self-relief is a dedication of prayer each day. Before they (our parents) even leave us, children of our younger generation should be taught about this too. So that they may be strong to accept the fact that we too don't live forever.
Cheers Cefaz! have a nice day!:)

ow...wow!
so, we must be doing something from now on, eh Gwen?
i love the forest (see my avatar), that's why i just love to plant trees. it's a little tiring but there's a kind of satisfaction inside me to see nature back to life and that satisfaction will be with me till the day i die..

Fear is natural, but I really don't have any particular's when it comes to fearing something. I can never be sure to what'll happen to me today or tomorrow, so I just let fear hide at the back of my mind.
I guess my only fear for now are my love ones, my family and my friends. It will really cause me a lot of suffering and heartaches, so I always include them on my prayers!;)

well, as long as you're nice to everyone, there's nothing to worry about. in fact - you have to worry when you need a time just for yourself...he he he..coz' you might be surrounded by everyone most of the times.

Well, I have lots of fears. Ever since childhood, I feared ghosts the most like anything else. As I grown up, ghosts seem not as fearful as before. Just like what you said, our fear changes as we growing up, I also share this opinion. Now I'm 25, and I begin to fear that I will be old one day and there is no meaning for me to live. I want to be young forever, of couse, that's impossible. So I think I should think about something more real. So I come to find that I'm fearing that my parents will pass away some day and leave me alone. It almost makes me cry when thinking about this.
As to your ultimate question, I think my greatest fear in life is loneliness.

as we have been discussing progressively, we can't keep our parent's forever. it's kinda silly to insist that we fear of losing them when in fact we know well enough that nobody lives forever on this planet. we should instead fear that 'we could never grow matured or be able to accept sadness' - that's the fear worth considering. as for loneliness, it's our attitude of today that will make people want to company us later...

how very romantic! but my friend, be careful with love. it is the sweetest testimony mankind have ever known, but it's also the most poisonous one when it is out of place. Reserve some love for yourself. Life is too precious to give away. cheers!

i heard that one way to 'fill in the gap' is by socializing more. one step at the time. get to know one person, then two, then three, later a big group will evolve and great friendship within the circle. that circle will grow bigger with interesting activities like going fishing, charity works like cleaning the beach while having picnic..oww...lots of fun around the corner..

Of all the fears in life , DEBTOR's calls make me sick, anxious and hell down . To borrow is relatively easy ,but to pay back in time is .......

oww...you're absolutely right! but if you know you have debts and payback time, you should know to be ready too. the key word is "be responsible" and when you do, you won't face this terrible problem to haunt you. you'll be lucky if those debtors are nice people...well - i hope they are.
peace man!

I have this fear of going broke. I don't know when this started but every time I think of getting jobless or not having money, this fear takes its grip on me. I try so hard to save and I am quite proud of myself for having saved some amount from my salary. Knowing this, my fears are allayed somewhat.

hey, that shouldn't be your fear anymore. you're just doing the right thing and know what? others are in poorer situation than that. i have the same fear too but while I'm doing my best to get over it, I don't spend too much time thinking about it.

I think its depends and cahnges with situation.
At this moment IO don't want to lose the people my own.
I don't want to end up my career here.
I also pray to GOD that nobody forces me to take any decision in life.

At this point my greatest fear is definitely losing a loved one, especially my parents. I fear not being able to take care of them. I fear not being there for them when they need me.
Several years from now I might be married. By then I would fear dying and leaving behind my wife and kid.

My greatest fear would be losing someone i love. I don't want to wake up one day without having them near, without having to kiss and loved them. I am not afraid of anything except of that, i love my family. While i am still living, i want to give them all they wanted, i want to make their dreams come true that is all wanted to do.

what a wonderful person you are to your family. they're so lucky to have a very loving person as you are.
well Grecy, you can't keep them forever. But prayers and happy memories within the family will be and i hope you will keep the warmth in your family...:)

that'll do. you're afraid of spiders and water.
spider, i can understand but water?
i bet you mean you're afraid to go near the river or the lake/sea. i think that's equivalent to phobias like afraid of heights, etc..
thank you PixieMischief!
