Does any other woman in here have this issue in your marriage??
I so hate it when my husband leaves the toilet seat up, he was recently told that whoever clenas the toilet should be able to have the respect of the toilet seat..lol and I clena the toilet, in fact I clean everything!!
What do you think??

My husband too, but the problem with that is when I was training my sons, they try the same thing and their aim was not good..:(

Nope. This doesn't annoy me. Sometimes its up sometimes its down, but I don't typically make a mental note of it. There are so many other things to worry about that I just don't think it bothers me/registers me at all.

I really never had this problem...I only had to tell my husband a cpl of time to go in and put the seat down...Even if he forgets now and then only thing I have to do is walk out of the bathroom and say I have to go and he knows right away and runs in there and puts the seat down...I guess I was lucky about this...

I have 3 sons as well as my husband to deal with. When the boys were younger we had problems with them aiming. I cured them once and for all when I got really mad at them. I had just finished cleaning the spills on the floor...again..when somebody went and missed. I got so mad that I told them that next time they miss they will have to lick it up, gross I know but I was really upset. I don't know whether the thought of having to lick the toilet floor got to them or me being so angry but I have very few problems now. And when I see any of them heading off to the toilet I just shout seat.
The other day though my daughter was rushing to go, too busy playing that she waited to the last second! She ran in and went to sit down but the seat was up and she got stuck. Poor girl, she is only 5 and was very scared that she was going to be flushed away!!

Well if that is what he was told, then you should have that respect, TTucker3. I even put down the cover too, that way my husband can't say that I don't have to mess with the seat..lol

I always thought this situation would annoy me but some very useful advice was given to me sometime before I got married and it has saved a lot of arguments since.
You can't expect your husband to put the toilet seat down if you don't put it up after you've finished with it yourself.....

I actually don't have this problem. Every once in awhile my husband will leave it up, but most the time he puts it back down. He's always done it that way, I guess his mother must have pounded it into him. I'll take your side, since you clean it, you should deside if the seat stays up or down.

I have trained him well ;)) sit down, sit, sit :). My father was the only man against 3 women so we never had a problem with that, so when my husband started living the sit up I could not stand it. Lots of times I would wake him in the middle of the night so he can go put it down. So he satred siting down (poor thing) but hey I dont need to put it down and clean around the toilet every time I go in there.

I couldn't agree more with you! It is really so frastrating for me as well, and I just can't get used to the idea that this will never change. However, if we see it from a different point of view, if our husbands put the toilet seat down each time, the bacteria that stay in the toilet would spread all over the toilet seat that we use! So if we use this approach, and take into consideration that this is how men work, it is better for us to just clean the toilet before the seat is down again.
