Halloween is right around the corner so i was wondering who let their kids trick or treat? SOme dont and some do.Last year mine went to the mall to trick or treat.A few year years they went to my grandmother's church and they had something going on there. This year my daughter's want to have a a little get 2gether since both of their b-days are next month. When I was a kid I did trick or treat every year until i was to old but you know what thease days I see teenagers walking around trick or treating ringing the doorbell for candy and they know they are to big.

Everyone likes free candy and some fun dress up time. Whether you're 5 or 15.
I trick or treated until I was about 11. My parents would take my brother and I over to our grandparents neighborhood (we didn't grow up in a neighborhood ourselves) until my brother turned 14 and had friends to go out with instead. Since I was younger, whenever my brother was too old for stuff, I apparently was too.

Up until I was ten years old, I never got to go trick or treating. My mom was a minister and she was not having it. When she passed away, the foster home where my two sisters and I were staying let us go.
We were in seventh heaven. My mom gave us one piece of candy about once a month and here we were with these big bags full of candy. I have been addicted to candy ever since.
But, when I have children, I will not let them go. Not only because of my religion, I believe that this world is getting more and more frightening. Mark my word, in a few more years, saying trick or treat will be considered a terrorist threat. It wont be some little cute kids game for much longer.

Our mall doesn't do it any more. :( We did do that the last year they did though.
We'll go trick or treating around the neighborhood. They want to have a party but I'm hoping to talk them out of it. My oldest is 11 so she won't be too old until next year at least. :)

What age is to old i personally think that if you still have the spirit dont let your age stop you. In fact i would rather see the teenagers out stopping door to door then lighing the out house on fire in town square. Do i let my children trick or treat yes i do they are ages 15 13 10 and 7.

I loved Trick or Treating, I miss it still. Halloween is such a fun holiday. My 2 yr. old grandson is looking forward to going this year. He remembers last year. He wants to be Elmo. I dressed up as Santa one year, I went to a night club for a party. Some women came along, sat on my lap and proceeded to flirt with me. She told me she wanted a new husband. It was funny when she relized I was a women. I took my son out Trick or Treating dressed up as Santa, that was fun, all the little kids thought I was the real guy, except one little boy, he said I was George. Happy Halloween..........

I used to go all the time when I was a kid. My mom and dad would take us and walk with us. Good memories. The world is not such a safe place anymore for fun like that. If we lived in a neighborhood where you know everyone, maybe. My kids either had parties or went to parties at their friends, or at church if we had a fall festival, they loved that. Tried the mall thing once, it was a disappointment to them. I think trick or treat is for little kids, when they get bigger it's more of what kind of trouble can they get into, toilet papering & egging are fun for the ones doing it, not for the recipient of the "fun". I think most of my relatives have churches that do something fun for the entire family so they don't have only the option of going door to door. We live in the country so we don't get anyone to our door, we buy candy just in case, but we buy mostly what we like as we wind up eating it all :)

Halloween is not really celebrated in New Zealand nor Samoa so we have never participated in trick or treating however we may do it this year. There is someting happening at his school on that day or that week so we might get a chance to trick or treat, my son wants to, costume and all. We shall see though as I am not too keen on it LOL

Hi disvachic,
Last year we didn't take my daughter trick or treating because she was only 4 months old. This year we are going to take her trick or treating if the weather cooperates. We live in Canada and it's not uncommon for us to have snow a week or so before Hallowe'en! My daughter picked out her Hallowe'en costume herself, she is going to be Tigger!

I love trick or treating! And my daughter can't wait to go. I know these days it's not as safe as it used to be, but I feel it's important. Personally I don't like going to the mall or church because I feel that it takes some of the fun away. That's just me. I like going door to door and meeting my neighbors. My daughter has been talking about it for months now. She's going to be Cinderella. I bought the costume for her when it was on clearance around April. I only paid like $3 for it. Her birthday will be two days later. She's more excited about Halloween. I think having a party for the kids is a great idea. I would like to have a halloween party for my daughter, but she's just not ready for it yet.

I actually have one of those teenagers-and i know they are to old-but they enjoy it and i also take my other 3 children trick or treating every halloween. I did as a child and i think its just a great way to spend time with the kids they look forward to this day every year just like christmas and their birthdays.
