If I had to have a guess about this...
In the future... not so far away... every communication will be through satellite.
You won't need a computer to go on the internet.
You will have a large television on your wall and you will be surfing the internet via a remote control.
But the internet will be controlled by the government. It will be more like a shopping network. Freedom of speech will be non-existant. Forget about having your own website or blog. Forget about chatting on myLot.
There might be some forums out there. But as soon as you say one wrong word... the government watch dog will cut your connection off. And you will have the police at your door.

ROFLMAO!! You know what... I guess... your thought was influenced by a Science Fiction movie. But anyway, it is a good idea -- I like to surf the internet via a remote control. It is more comfortable. When will this new invention be launched in the marketplace?
With regard to your second thought, I am often wondering if you live in Australia. I think Australia also upholds Freedom of Speech, doesn't it? Do you think it is possible? If yes, it is like going back to the Nazi era, isn't it? In other words, living in the modern time with the stone age's rules.

Australia is a democracy country, isn't it? If people don't like such things, you can ask your representative in the Parliament in order to question them. You can vote to agree or disagree.

In your dreams... lol
Democracy is just a word today.
People brought this on themselves by asking the government to protect them from themselve.
Today the government control our life and will eventually have total control. We are told what is good for us and what is bad for us. And we are not allowed to do what is bad.
Like I said... people lazyness and reluctance to be responsible for themselves have contributed to this.

Wow, you are far forward looking individual. Who else would ask that question?
I just hope there is an internet or something like it in the future. Many powerful people are not too happy that people from around the world can share information and compare facts. This makes it harder to control, manipulate, and deceive people.

I agree with you. However, Internet can also be used to spread their campaigns.

I really don't think it will become old fashioned. It has the advantage of being the most popular form of communication right now, and I think people's interest in it means it will move with the times. But you can never accurately tell the future.

In Japan already work is going on for Internet's new Protocol version which shall have more number of IP Addresses and almost Infinite Web Sites will be possible.
Also Devices will be able to communicate in a never before way.
So it is very much possible that Internet becomes old-fashioned or even replaced by a Newr Form in the future.

Yes, I think one day the Internet will be old-fashioned, just like the record player, and the 8 tracks. The way that technology grows something new will be here one day !
