I'm considering purchasing a "refurbished" blackberry. Has anybody out there ever purchased a "refurbished" cell phone? I'd love to hear about your experience with any "refurbished" device. Is it worth it, or would you recommend just spending the money and getting a new device? The refurbished blackberry will cost me $50, but a new one will cost me $315 up front with a $100 mail-in rebate.

consider two things in buying a refurbished product. One, asked somebody who knows a lot about the product, sometimes seller can easily fool innocent buyers. Two, though product is refurbished, still asked for personal warranty.

Refurbished basically means it has been fixed at one point or another. It could have been a minor repair or major repair but after the repair, it should be in fine working, resellable order. I personally never trusted refurbished phones. You never know what kind of problems it could have.
