Talking on a cell phone using the hands free option it has been proved technically rather dangerous than driving vehicles after drinks. Most accidents take place on account of using this type of cell phone while driving vehicles. Anyone who works long hours in a day while returning home its always better to avoid talking in cellphones in roads. Instead if he or she drives say a 2 wheeler after work definitely it will be risky and further more if he or she uses a cell phone and nowadays people riding two wheeler and four wheelers are using hands free option to talk through their cellphone while driving and trouble is invited in the form of accident. Latest statistic prove accidents happen due to lack of concentration while driving.People should realise their mistake and atleast they should avoid be very careful while using hands free while driving. Although I have my mobile phone with me in the car, and the handsfree set up ready, I prefer not to use it unless it is essential. What makes me so angry is drivers still using their phones while driving even though it is illegal. Only yesterday I was followed by a van and the driver was holding his phone and yapping while trying to keep control of his van with one hand.

I don't use handsfree at all.. I rather talk directly on my cell phone, but also slow down my car or stop it while I am on the phone.. I tried talking on the handsfree while driving, and found it harder than while I am directly talking on the cellphone without the handsfree while driving...

You are very right, I have also observed, if I am driving I need to concentrate on driving, I cannot attend calls simultaneously because I feel it is verh dangerous and risky. While driving slight lapse of concentration on driver's part can prove very fatal. And you know traffic in Metro city is too much and every type of vehicles keep running on road, so one cannot take any kind of chance while driving. I do not attend to calls while driving, if somebody is sitting besides me, I hand over my cell to her/him to attend my calls.

I think talking on any kind of cell phone is dangerous. The driver isn't paying attention to the road but more interested in what is being said so how can he/she be paying attention to the road and other vehicles?

Hi subathra. It's been quite long since I responded to your last discussion. I was sick... :( After all, you brought up a good discussion here. :) I think I have to make a good response. :) Hahaha... Talking during driving is absolutely dangerous. Especially when you are speeding. Once, I almost got an accident. The second time was when I forgot to turn and headed straight. Loosing concentration here... Whether it's using a handsfree or not, but I think when people talk on the phone during driving, they will not concentrate on the road. Now, I avoid to talk on the phone during driving, especially when I'm speeding. For some people, they might find no trouble during driving. Yes, only if the person can concentrate on both the road and the phone. Just suggestion here, if you want to talk when drive, drive slowly. Don't speed. Thanks!

Hi, I was also wondering why you have not responded to my new discussions..I hope you are fine now..take care.. I feel many who drive doesnt have concentration on both road and phone and hence its better to avoid taking rather to risk lives..

A friend of mine is a hotelier and he keeps getting calls very often. Even while driving, he attends to these calls, much to the anger of his friends who have told him not to pick up the call or put it in silent mode. Henever listens. Recently he met with an accident, though he says the accident was due to other person's mistake, I have a feeling that because of his bad habit of talking over cell phone, the accident might have occured. Though not much damage was caused, it is a warning for him. I do not possess a mobile and hence I have no problem.

Thank god he escaped with minor injury..but its not safe to meet with accident in busy roads where traffic is hectic.I feel people needs more caution in this aspect of using cellphones while driving.

Well, i really can't comment much coz i always pick up the phone whether i''m driving, in the bathroom or otherwise. But i've never had an accident of any sort. I've even seen on of my friends breaking up with his girlfriend on the phone while driving. And i must say that he drove well enough considering we were on delhi gurgaon road, full of traffic. Maybe its got something to do with absent minded driving that we unconsciously prefer. Its somehing like some people get so used to driving that the car seems a part of them and not an accesory. And so, you can talk while driving just as you talk while walking.
