India won the T20 championship and that too defeating teams like pakistan, england, australia and south africa. What was appealing that the team played as an unit and all were playing for one cause i.e to win.
Now as the competeion is over and one day series begin with australia the big three will make a comeback. The question is who will they drop from the team?
I can guess sachin coming in the place of gambhir or Sourav in place of uthhapa and dravid in place of rohit sharma. I feel very bad for them.
I think its time to say good bye for this players atleast from one dayers if not the test team to give the young players a cahnce to make a fortune.
Cheers,

This does call for some serious introspection and future-telling. MSD was no doubt brilliant in the T20 Tournament and it looked as though he has genuinely been able to gel the members and enthuse them to give their best, irrespective of the burden of expectation. Cricket as we all know has almost a religious-like appeal in India and the fat-paid cricketers are icons of millions. But what was new and refreshing about this team was not only a bunch of young turks but even the fact that this team did not have a proper coach! And I really liked the way MSD said that he was not worried about the outcome, he just wanted to enjoy the moment. And how true it was. We could almost feel the enjoyment seeping thru our TV sets. But after this euphoria, some difficult one-day series are coming up and I think (not very sure) that some experience is needed in the batting & bowling. Zaheer for one should come back. But for the other three oldies, as I said, I am not very sure. While I definitely do not want to see old fogies in the team with their personal politics and blasted egos, some experience is also needed when the team is facing Pakistan and Australia. Its after a long long time that I cheered my team whole-heartedly and I do not want to lose the fun & excitement associated with watching Indian cricket. Some balance has to be found out.

Hi,
Thats the point which everyone is thinking about. Yes zaheer should make a come back. he has improved quite a lot and he was missed by this indian team.
India always lacks a quality bowler and zaheer just fits in the team. The trio has all the experiance but then in ODI u need more than experiance. Look at the way uthappa is kept out of the team. Though one cannot say anyhting about sachin the way he played against india, iam very unhappy with the performances with saourav and dravid.
Sourav with his problems with short pitch delivery, running between the wickets and his fielding is just not done.
Dravid though a quality player has some real problems with his confidence. He surely was not confident about his captaincy and was continuing becoz of ego.
I hope they realize soon that their time is over and give maximum oppurtunities to the youngsters.
Cheers,

Young India has shown the commitment to win and they won. This is not to defy the seniors in indian cricket. they are the wonderful cricketers indian cricket have ever produced. But the old water should be replaced by the new one. They have played a lot of cricket and their experiences can be shared to the younger generation so that india can continue to be the world champion. I think it is left to the inquisitiveness of the wise seniors to allow India's wonderful saga of success.

hi sumaana,
Ur absolutely right. Look at the australians, they are a perfect example of how a sportsman should be. Lot of thier inform players retired because they thought its time ti leave the game. This way they maintain the respect and leave the game with their heads high.
On the other hand indians dont realize that their should be oppurtunities given to the youngsters. They need to share thier experiances to the youngsters and provide coaching instead of playing themselves.
Cheers,
