How do you feel about the No Child Left Behind act?

I have mixed feelings about it. I guess because I have two nephews who have ADD and ADHD. And honestly, I don't think they will pass it. My nephew just started high school...7th grade here...and he is doing most schoolwork at a 4th and 5th grade level. How is he supposed to take a test for kids that are on a 12th grade level? I think they should have different levels of the test based on your learning ability.

As a special ed teacher and tutor, I'm very concerned that we are inadvertantly leaving MANY children behind with this legislation. The intent is wonderful, but the dollars just aren't there to back it up. One local district has found a few ways to make meaningful headway, but it means testing first graders like every six weeks and pulling any with the slightest bit of trouble out for intense reteaching. It's helped many, but not all. Some kids simply are not able to go at the pace demanded. I'm worried-I think we'll see the national HS drop out rate rise and it's already troublesome at what, 20-some percent that don't finish high school?
Scary!
