Telemarketers - what is the most creative way to get rid of them?

These telemarketers are cancers on society. They drive me insane. You think you're getting a call from friends or family, but there they are, a 5 second gap then someone rudely mispronouncing your name, often without a Mr, ringing from India to try to flog off something. Usually I just say "Telemarketer aren't you! Ta ta - on your way."
I want to know the most creative things people have done to not just get rid of these people,but hopefully let them know that they should get themselves an honest job that would actually be a benefit to society.

Oh yah..during summer i got few of them on our voip line. And the girl ask me services and stuffs available in canada. I told her not to bother to call this number cause we are in Qatar. She must have been wondering if im telling the truth!
what i always do is I usually hang up immediately after saying im sorry i couldnt accomodate her/him. ^-^
