Get harrssed by a lady beggar

I never experienced in my entire life living in the city being harassed by beggars. Well, when someone touched me asking for money, I do not consider that harassment.
This morning, when I am on my way to work, I used to ride on either a jeepney, fx or cab. This morning, I rode a jeepney and after passing through the train railway, a lady beggar hitched on the jeepney without the driver knowing it. I also ignored her presence and moved far from her, when suddenly she grabbed my shades and to my surprise, I instantly hold my shades against her and tried to calm myself with the incident. A guy passenger moved closer to the driver and whispered to pull over the jeepney and let the beggar to drop off. The driver then asked the beggar to drop off but the beggar declined until the driver threatened to hit her with a stick. Worse thing, the beggar showed off her private part convincing the driver to let her ride to Rotonda. The driver insistently lift his hand as if hitting the lady beggar and the latter then got down the jeep.
I won't sympathize the lady beggar if she will be hit by the driver, what she did was improper and almost freaked me out. The driver will be justified to do anything to save his passengers from harassment.
That was horrible and shocking experience for today. I end up realizing to be cautious any time.

that is one thing i don't like them doing..i usually get irritated and just mock them down..i had this incident where in this beggar is asking for money for each person she is seeing..by the time i was in line waiting for my turn on an interview she has a child with her who knows if it was her child and using the child to beg..when she came up to me i didn't gave her any..while the other two on my sides had given away 5 pesos each..i said nope..i'm not being mean but as far as i'm concern she is healthy and fir to do any descent job and was younger than my mom..and to think why the hell would she prefer to that while my mom had actually did any kind of job even accepting laundry's and ironing clothes at home..clean someone elses home and why cant she do that..then sudden;y she just harass me saying why did this people beside you gave me 5 pesos and you cant even give a peso? duh! i didn't manage to control myself and i just said..if you just try to find a descent way to earn rather than using that child and beg then you prolly wont be that miserable..and i know i'm right..she is not disable not to do any of the job my mom can do..it seems to me she just wanna earn the easiest way she can..

Not giving what they want and what they ask for is not a sign of being mean or rude to those beggars on the street.
Same reaction like you did, I am irritated with those who looks like capable to find a descent and legal job, and they make begging as their main occupation.
Well, you did the right thing.

many it's a modus operandi..some snatchers are doing it to divert your attention without you knowing you lost a thing already. Have you checked your valuables?

I am sorry to hear about what happened to you, but I am glad you are ok. Unfortunately in todays society there are so many dangerous individuals. I am glad that the occurance didnt escalate to a worse occurance. The driver did the right thing by kicking this person off of of the jeepney.

Scary sight. I was once chased down the road by a begger. Fortantly I was on the phone with my dad the whole time. He asked me for money and I did not have my purse on me just a $20 bill, that I wasn't going to give to him. He chased me all the way to my car. Then began hitting my windsheild until I drove off. People go crazy when they dont' have anything I guess.
