I had at one time, years ago, a black mole on my neck. I thought it made me look sexy but decided that I needed to have it removed so that something didn't happen later on. The doctor burned it off and it didn't hurt a bit; actually, the needle he deadened it with before he burned it hurt a bit but not for long. I think they have a better way to remove them today.

I had a mole removed from my face, just below and to the left of my left eye. I had two moles there that my mother had never noticed before. I thought they had always been there and called them my beauty marks but she seemed to think they were new and growing. So, I went to my doctor and she removed one of the in her office. She just froze the area, sliced off the mole and sewed in two or three stitches. She sent the mole for a biopsy and it came back clear. So the other one remains.
The doctor did tell me that as you grow older you grow more moles, which I certainly believe because my mother has grown a lot of moles over the last couple of decades. There is only a need to be concerned if it becomes discoloured or continues to change in size and shape.

Thanks for your explanation. I really want to get rid of my moles in the face because I have a lot. Well, my moles are not growing. They have been with me ever since I was born. Actually I had some of them removed last night and it took only about five minutes and I thought I would want to consult other people before I have all of my moles eradicated.

Well, mine was just a simple process. They put a cream for thirty minutes then wiped it out. It kind of burned the area and after a ten days the black area fell off leaving a hole. But after a couple of weeks the hole disappeared if you put anti-scar cream. look at my face now.

My husband had a large, growing mole removed from his temple/hairline a few weeks ago. The dermatologist cut it off, and then cauterized the skin, to lessen the bleeding. Within 2 weeks, a scab fell off, and the skin is a little pink where it was. That is the new skin. I don't know yet if there will be a scar.

I once had my moles checked by a dermatologist and I was told that it would be safer to remove my moles. They could end up cancerous so as early as now, it should be removed. I have also been told by other people that especially my family to have my moles removed before something bad comes out of it. So I guess it is safer that way. I suggest that you consult also a good doctor and if possible have a second opinion. all the best to you and your mole! lol!

I had one removed on my back - it had started to bleed, so the doctor just wanted to make sure it was ok. It was quick and I had very little pain.

hi,
I had seen one of my relative did a cosmetic surgery to remove the mole moreover her total appearance was bit effected. Still that mole had a beauty of itself on her face down to her lips. For some some moles at some places are a beauty and it is said it another sign of luck if got mole at particular areas. Any to those who do not want it there are many better methods to get it off. Any how I do have few moles all over my body and few on my face too.

not me, but my mom. when we went to our dematologist, she just used cautery on the moles. worked out fine. the derma just applied surface medicine then after two weeks, my mom went back for a facial. it was pretty fast. then you just apply some whitening stuff to even out the skin tone. :-)

blow the little buggers up with dynamite, there really is no other way. Seriously, unless it is under medical supervision, leave em alone

I never have, but I had friends who had several removed from various locations, including their backs and arms. Often, moles can be cancerous tissue, not just benign beauty marks. So doctors will often remove them just to be safe. I don't think it's a big deal, and the scarring is often minimal.

I am planning to have my one. My mother has already did. Its by putting some cream (by dermatologist) and the mole falls off like a skin of a wound. There is no surgical procedure... and no scar. Its just a little bit expensive that is why I have to make enough money to have it done. It will only take a few minutes... and its done.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Actually, I had about five of my moles removed last night. It was a simple procedure and I think it's just like the one you had. But I wasn't sure if it was safe so I thought I would ask my frinds here. Now that I know it's a common practice I won't hesitate to have all of my moles removed. Fortunately, it's not expensive here, only 20 baht per mole but considering that I about 30 in my face and neck so it would cost me about 500 baht. I think it's not bad.
