I am just curious if ink refilling ideal. I've been refilling my black ink cartridge for more than ten times now, however, my color ink cartridge is already used up which i refilled for more than seven times, my printer doesn't work when I insert the tri-color catridge. So far i don't know if it's really the color cartridge that doesn't work or is it the printer that has problem (the black ink cartridge with the printer is still working well.

i'm using canon ip 1700 and i never buy new cartridge since i bought the printer. until now, i guess it's been around 6-7 times i refilled my black ink. but the quality of printing never change until now. the quality still good like first day i used it. is it ok for me to go on refilling or buy new cartridge?

i think we're just lucky enough that we were able to reach that stage of refilling, yet the cartridge as well as the printer are still in good condition.thanks for the response.

Ink refilling is definitely not ideal. if you want to refill your ink cartridge i suggest that you do it only 2-3 times and then buy a new ink cartridge because it damages your cartridge and it can also can damage your printer. so to protect your printer use original and brand new ink cartridge.
if your printer doesn't print after refilling you can try cleaning the cartridge head with a solution and then blow into the refilling hole and see if ink flows. then try re-inserting your cartridge again if it doesn't work your cartridge is damage and unusable.

thanks! yeah, an HP Technician also suggested the same. I tried inserting the color cartridge and it doesn't work already, already damaged/worn out. My black ink cartridge is now on its 19th refill. Yes, I think i have to buy an original one already, your response brought fears in me (especially for my printer).
