I have been to Vegas several times. The last time I went for a week and I was just so tired of gambling it wasn't even funny. I don't know if I am going to go back. The only reason why I would is because I have a timeshare there, other than that its a waste of money. What do you think?

I have never been to Las Vegas but I was in Reno, kinda similar, lol. That was like 30 years ago.
I'm not a person on glimmer and shiny lights and all that. I did have fun gambling a little. Was thrown out because I was taking pictures, ha ha.
The most fun I had in Reno is when we went up this mountain and visited a ghost town. I think it was called Virginia City. Now THAT was much more interesting to me with the old graves and old buildings.

I've only been to Vegas once and I'm really looking forward to going again. I don't think I would go for a full week. I went for four days last time and that's what I would do again. I do spend some time gambling but there are also so many shows and other things to do. I think you have to go to Vegas with an amount of money that you are willing to lose with you and no more than that. It's when you keep going to the bank machine that things get out of hand. I was up a little when we went last time so that helped to.

I'm a Las Vegas native and I love my town and there is alot more to Vegas than gambling, I actually do NOT gamble, except for once a month a set aside 10 dollars every payday and my buddies and I hit the locals casino ( a place that really caters more to locals than just visitors) but in fact there are at least 40 free shows nightly ( some during the day as well) as well as several different types of museums, the clark county zoo, lake mead rec area ( my personal fav hang out), along with a 2 hour drive to Laughlin, a smaller Vegas type town along the colorado river, very beautiful as well as having additional out door activities like jet ski and boat rentals and such orif you like golf, try Mesquite Nev, its an hour up I- 15, small town only 4 resorts, 5 golf courses, several desert areas great for photo ops, and great people.Nevada is more than just gambling, my biggest gamble is my job, I work for a construction company that speacializes in these mega resorts, The Rio is one that I worked on from start to finish as with the Stratosphere, TI, and several others, before I got mixed up in that mess, I built houses through out southern Nevada and discovered several nice really small towns that still have casino style entertainment but also a trip back in time A great example, Beatty Nevada, there is a couple smaller casinos, as well as one of the best homemade chocolate and fudge makers there is, this is a 2 hour drive up the 215 freeway north.

Well I go every year. Vegas is alway changing and there is plenty to do when you go there other then gambling. You can spend time at the pool, go to a spa, I really like to go to the shows. They are a bit expensive but I think they are worth every penny. Plus Vegas has the best shopping. Also you can do day trips to the Hoover Dam and the grand canyon. I like to buffet hopping too that is fun!

Vegas is a great place to visit, but for the novice (nonlocals) short visits are the best. We went last year for a week and that was about 3 days to long for us. We drank to much and didnt get enough sleep. We had a blast though. We stayed at the NY NY and it was absolutely wonderful, but we never really did anything but sleep there for a few hours. My suggestion is to find an older hotel and stay in that and spend most of your time at Freemont if you are wanting to gamble. We visited all the hotels because that is cool. We got to meet Vince Neil from Motley Crue and got to ge at the grand opening of his tattoo place. Go have alot of fun. It really wasn't that expensive. I honestly don't remember eating but one or two times, but I am sure I did LOL. Take money for gambling, drinking (if you do drink -- they give free drinks when gambling just tip), and if you want an actual Coke you have to find the CVS or Coke store otherwise everything is Pepsi.
