It really depends on the song. Words are very important to me. Unfortunately my husband doesn't usually ever even listen to the lyrics. If the words are terrible I probably won't like the song even if the sound is great. On the other hand, there are very few songs that I like just because of the sound. I guess both are equally important to me.

For me both have their own importance. A song needs to have good music for anyone to enjoy but if its wording is not good one still wont be able to enjoy it. I simply avoid songs which are meaningless or have double meanings. Now there are songs which i wont like to hear especially with my children. So both carry an equal weight to make it a cool thing to listen to.

I love music too. I'd say that the actual music is ore important than lyrics. A song can still be great when it has a beautiful melody with minimal, or no lyrics; but no matter how great lyrics are, if they are accompanied by weak music, they fall flat. That said, there are few pleasures greater than a beautiful melody married to exquisite poetic lyrics. Now we're talking masterpieces!

When I listen to music usally both is important to me but if I find the lyrics catchy and good then I like the song. But if I find the beat good an example is the tequila song then I dont care about the lyrics because the beat is whats the good part. But since I love to sing most of the time I love the lyrics because well I love to sing lol.

It's the words, the lyrics and the message. That's the most important thing for me, as long as I can relate to it. I'm listening more of Rock and Heavy metal music, those of which creates more sense in music.
Music is indeed a universal language, it has no bounderies as long as everybody knows how to appreciate it..

The first thing that would attract my attention in a song would be its sound. The music I hear. If it's a song that has words, I listen to the lyrics. If I like it a lot, I tend to memorize the words by heart and sing or hum the song every now and then. There's this particular song I really like, you probably have heard this before http://www.paulynramirez.com/forever/ and other songs too which I really like http://www.paulynramirez.com/category/my-favorite-songs/ which you might probably like, too. Happy listening, and happy mylotting!
